Top real estate professionals from around the world came together for the Luxury Portfolio SUMMIT, March 7-9 at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas. Participants included Tere Foster, Associate Broker at Windermere Real Estate, a member of Luxury Portfolio Fine Property Collection®, the luxury face of Leading Real Estate Companies of the World®, the largest global network of premier locally branded companies dominated by many of the world's most powerful independent luxury brokerages.
The program was designed to help attendees examine the latest in housing, design and lifestyle trends in the current luxury market. "2009 was a watershed year for the luxury market. The unprecedented changes in the worldwide economy and its impact on luxury consumer buying habits have forever impacted the way luxury sales professionals serve their clients," Paul Boomsma, president of Luxury Portfolio, said. "Our goal for the SUMMIT was to explore how these changes impact our business and share insights into the hearts and minds of today's luxury consumer."
Boomsma honored Tere Foster as the broker with the "Most Luxury Properties in North America New on the Market for 2009." Tere has long been recognized as an expert in marketing luxury properties including waterfront estates in our area.
"As a leader in luxury real estate in the Puget Sound area, I always appreciate the opportunity to meet with my colleagues from around the globe to hear about trends in their marketplace and hear from economists on the forecast for 2010," said Tere Foster, Associate Broker at Windermere Real Estate.
Keynote speakers included Don Winter of The Harrison Group, who discussed the drivers behind the purchase habits of the luxury consumer, with knowledge gleaned from their annual study "Survey of Affluence and Wealth in America," which is sponsored in part by Luxury Portfolio.
Matthew Ferrara, of Matthew Ferrara & Company, put into perspective how the next generation of buyers and sellers are turning "old ways" of real estate upside down in his presentation, "Generational Differences and How it Will Impact Your Service in 2010."
Alf Nucifora, chairman and founder of the Luxury Marketing Council chapters in San Francisco and Orange County, California, provided a step-by-step guide for how those serving the luxury consumer can make the most of the challenging economic climate in "How to Survive in 2010: A Step-By-Step Guide on Delivering Sales in an Unreceptive Marketplace."
