The Cambrian hotel in Adelboden, Switzerland is celebrating the New Year with the launch of a new website (www.thecambrianadelboden.com), which has been designed to reflect its new positioning. The Cambrian, formerly known as Solis Cambrian Hotel & Spa, is still managed by The West Paces Hotel Group but became a member of Design Hotels at the start of December 2009, and is now seeking to achieve “honesty and authenticity” in all it does.
These core values are to be found in every aspect of the hotel, from the logo through the website to the service delivery. For example, The Cambrian logo reflects the colours of Switzerland’s national flag, while the masthead of the new website is a traditional Swiss paper cut. Click on the “Experiences” link on The Cambrian website to reveal how the hotel’s guest experience coordinators can ensure that visitors’ stays are authentic, whether it’s through a summer visit to a Swiss farmer’s mountain hut to see cheese being made or whizzing through Adelboden’s 15km of maintained sledging routes in winter.
In the hotel itself, The Cambrian has introduced small, but significant changes that provide a more personal touch, such as the provision of “Cambrian cookies” throughout a guest’s stay, the Cambrian Hour (when free cakes are served every afternoon) and woollen blankets on the terrace, so that guests can simply snuggle up and admire the stunning views. The fact that the hotel has just 71 rooms (including 24 suites) means that The Cambrian is able to offer these excellent levels of personalised service.
