The company website will activate a “Solidarity fund” through which the company will donate one euro for every booking made through solmelia.com up to 15 February. In addition, existing and new members of the Sol Meliá mas loyalty programme can exchange their mas points for a donation of 2.5 euros for every 500 points to the victims through UNICEF. The company has also provided means for its employees to make donations to the NGO to help support the people affected by the natural disaster that took place on 12 January in Port au Prince.
