With the Christmas decorations carefully packed away for another year, thoughts turn to those other special dates in the calendar, such as Mother’s Day, birthdays, anniversaries and Valentine’s Day. Orient-Express offers a host of dining experiences and memorable days out, both on the British Pullman or the Northern Belle in the UK, or, for that extra special celebration, romantic journeys on the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.

Orient-Express’ two elegant day trains provide a blissfully romantic setting for Valentine’s Day. The British Pullman is offering a steam hauled, five course Valentine’s dinner trip on Saturday 13th February and a Valentine’s lunch trip on Sunday 14th February, both departing from London Victoria station, to mark the most romantic day of the year. The lunch on board The British Pullman is £275 per person and the Valentine’s dinner is £330 per person. The Northern Belle train will be hosting a Valentine’s lunch departing from Birmingham and Coventry on Sunday 14th February, priced at £195 per person.

The gleaming carriages of both trains will also play host to two unforgettable Mother’s Day luncheons on Sunday 14th March, with Northern Belle offering departures from Chester, Crewe and Liverpool, and the British Pullman from London Victoria. Passengers can enjoy the passing scenery and each other’s company in the comfort and style of 1920’s dining compartments, whilst uniformed stewards serve a delicious five course table d’hôte lunch with champagne and wine. Every mother or special lady will also receive a small gift courtesy of Orient-Express. The Northern Belle Mother’s Day Luncheon is £195 per person and The British Pullman luncheon is £230 per person.

The ultimate glamorous and romantic, once in a lifetime, adventure to share with a loved one has to be a journey between London and Venice on board the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. As the twinkling lights of Alpine villages are glimpsed through the windows, guests dress for dinner in their private sleeping compartments and sip champagne cocktails in the piano bar, toasting a ruby or golden wedding anniversary, or the start of married life. Prices per person start from £1595 based on two adults sharing a Pullman compartment.

Orient-Express offers a wide range of unique travel gift experiences, such as its ‘Golden Age of Travel’ departures, which come in a beautifully presented box containing a voucher for travel, as well as specially selected items from the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express signature boutique that compliment the voyage included. Gift box prices start from £550.

One of the most specialist Gift Boxes is the ‘Celebration in Style’ package. The package has been specially created for families or groups of up to 20 people, and includes a glamorous and gastronomic evening in a private carriage onboard the British Pullman from London Victoria, as well as one suite and nine double rooms for one night at The Ritz London. The price for this once in a lifetime celebratory package is £20,000.

To make that special occasion even more memorable, Orient-Express gifts and special touches can be organised in advance of a journey, such as a bottle of Laurent Perrier Champagne, a personalised corsage or a celebratory cake to be delivered to the table. Guests can also take home a memento of their journey from the on board boutique, which has an eclectic array of gifts ranging from hand blown French crystal glasses, elegant silk scarves and ties, stunning silver jewellery and beautifully intricate Art Deco Limoges boxes.
