Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong offers a variety of events over the Chinese New Year holiday to make the arrival of the Year of the Tiger a memorable occasion.

Spring Dinner Menus
From 15 January to 28 February 2010, Michelin two-star Shang Palace presents auspicious Reunion and Spring set dinner menus, specially created by Executive Chinese Chef Ip Chi cheung, to delight the discerning palate. Priced at HK$6,888 per table of 12 persons, the 10-course Reunion set menu features Roast Whole Suckling Pig; Braised Dried Oyster and Whole Conpoy with Sea Moss; Sautéed Scallops and Sliced Conch with Pine Nuts; and Steamed Fresh Coral Trout. Priced at HK$8,888 per table of 12 persons, the highlights of the Spring set menu includes Sautéed Fresh King Prawn; Braised Supreme Tiger Shark’s Fin Soup with Crab Roe and Crab Meat; Sautéed Scallop and Sliced Conch with Pine Nuts; Steamed Fresh Twin Coral Trout; Braised Sliced Abalone, Sea Cucumber, Fish Maw and Sea Moss; and Deep Fried Crispy Chicken with Enoki Mushroom. Guests can also toss their way to bountiful fortunes with Lo Sang (Chilled Fresh Sliced Salmon with Pomelo, Chinese Pickles and Young Ginger) and enjoy Lucky Dim Sum and Lunar New Year specialties with family and friends to welcome a prosperous year from 13 to 20 February 2010. With harbour views, Angelini is renowned for its elegant splendour, Italian cuisine and impeccable service. On 14 February 2010, guests can enjoy lobster lunch with free flowing Moët et Chandon Rosé Impérial at HK$468 per person. For dinner, guests can indulge in a six-course set menu at HK$1,288 per person. For an additional HK$300 per person, guests can delight in six glasses of wine, which are rated at more than 88 points by Wine Spectator or Robert Parker, or a bottle of rosé champagne, to complement the dishes. On the second day of Chinese New Year, guests will receive a 10 per cent discount voucher on a lobster lunch for their next visit when they indulge in a lobster lunch at HK$468 per person. On fireworks night, guests can savour a five-course set dinner menu, infused with black truffle and complemented with five glasses of wine, available at HK$1,488 per person. From 16 to 20 February 2010, for every four diners, a 25 per cent discount voucher for a lobster lunch will be given for the next visit when they indulge in a lobster lunch at HK$468 per person. For dinner from 16 to 20 February 2010, guests can savour a five-course set dinner menu, infused with black truffle and accompanied with one bottle of Banfi Brunello di Montalcino, at HK$1,288 per person. From 13 to 20 February 2010, guests can enjoy specially created Chinese New Year cocktails and mocktails at Tapas Bar against the harbour views. On 13, 14 and 16 February 2010, guests can immerse themselves in free-flowing Moët et Chandon Rosé Impérial plus 10 grams of caviar at HK$600 per person from 5 to 9 p.m. For a bubbly celebration on 14 February 2010, guests will receive a complimentary second bottle of rosé champagne when buying one bottle at HK$888 per bottle.

From 13 to 16 February 2010, Café Kool presents auspicious Chinese New Year lunch and dinner buffet highlighting traditional Chinese cuisine including Abalone Congee and Turtle Consommé. Guests can also indulge in free-flowing wine for only HK$168 per person, free-flowing champagne at HK$218 per person and free-flowing Chinese New Year cocktail and mocktail at HK$88 per person. The price for the festive lunch buffet starts from HK$288 per adult and HK$238 per child or senior citizen. The price for the festive dinner buffet starts from HK$458 per adult and HK$398 per child or senior citizen. From 14 to 20 February 2010, for every four diners, a red packet will be given, which contains prizes to be redeemed on the next visit to Café Kool. With live music in a classic and elegant setting, guests can delight in the festive afternoon tea buffet featuring Chinese longevity noodles and delicacies at The Lobby Lounge. Available from 13 to 15 February 2010, the afternoon tea buffet is priced at HK$218 per adult and HK$168 per child. Chinese New Year Puddings And Hampers
Chef Ip and his team at the Michelin two-star Shang Palace at Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong prepare a range of great value Chinese New Year puddings, gift packs and hampers to welcome the Year of the Tiger. Made from Japanese pumpkin, the Pumpkin Golden Bar infused with bird’s nest is believed to be good for health and beauty. Orders can be made at Déli Kool in person or by telephone at (852) 2733 8757. Orders confirmed before 20 January 2010 will enjoy a 25 per cent discount on all Chinese New Year puddings and a 20 per cent discount on all Chinese New Year hampers and gift packs.
