InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) Chief Executive Andrew Cosslett was in Bangkok recently to view the group’s latest properties in Thailand. As part of his trip, he also hosted a dinner for the group’s closest business partners at InterContinental Bangkok. The dinner was well attended by many of IHG’s business partners in Thailand, including Piyaman Tejapaibul, Managing Director of the Regent Group, which owns Holiday Inn Resort Regent Beach Cha-Am; and Chalermbhand Srivikorn, Chairman of the President Hotel and Tower Co., Ltd, which owns Holiday Inn Bangkok and InterContinental Bangkok. Amongst the attendees were young and fresh faces that represent the next generation of business partners in Thailand.
Andrew Cosslett’s visit underscores IHG’s commitment to growth in the Asia Pacific region. In Thailand alone, two new properties – InterContinental Hua Hin Resort and Holiday Inn Pattaya – opened this year. IHG has more than 200 properties in the development pipeline for this region.
"Thailand is a very important market for us. As a group, we are committed to growing in all of the key markets across the Asia Pacific region and have over 200 hotels in our development pipeline. Looking over the next 10 - 20 years, Asia Pacific will be the main growth engine for IHG and we are very optimistic about the long term health of the industry,” Andrew Cosslett remarks.
