Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong will stage an exclusive wine tasting and dinner with the renowned Spanish chef and wine maker Adolfo Muñoz Martin on 25 November 2009, featuring wines from Pago del Ama and Arzuaga. The event will start with a wine tasting in Tapas Bar from 6 to 7:30 p.m., followed by a wine dinner in Angelini at 8 p.m.

Emphasising the quality of natural ingredients and the latest culinary technologies in dish preparation, Adolfo’s cuisine follows the tradition and identity of Spanish gastronomy. With restaurants in Toledo and Japan, Adolfo has acquired international fame and the highest accolades from event, mass media and food specialist critics across the globe. He manages the Adolfo Group with his family, which includes Adolfo Restaurant; Restaurant La Perdiz; Adolfo Collection; Viñedo Cigarral Santa María, where Pago del Ama wine is produced; School of the Kitchen and Wines of Toledo. He is also the co-proprietor of the five-star Hotel Palace Empress Eugenia de Montijo, and runs the hotel’s Restaurant Belvís, which is a new gastronomic enclave that works under the philosophy of Adolfo's kitchen.

The six course dinner menu at Angelini will feature Raspberry and Fresh Langoustine, which will be complemented with Bodegas Arzuaga Fan d’Oro Chardonnay 2007. This will be followed by Traditional Castellana Soup, which will be matched with Bodegas Arzuaga La Planta 2008 and Creamy Rice, Saffron and Manchego, which will be accompanied with Pago Florentino 2005. The Seabass and Fresh Vegetables will be matched with Pago del Ama Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 and Stewed Duck with Extra Virgin Olive Oil will be paired with Pago del Ama Syrah 2006. For a sweet finish, guests can indulge in Cherry, Yogurt and Liquorice.

The wine tasting is priced at HK$98 per person for Grapevine members and HK$198 per person for non-members, while the wine dinner is priced at HK$1,488 per person. All prices are subject to a 10 per cent service charge.

Using only the finest ingredients of the season, Angelini delivers authentic Italian cuisine accompanied with an extensive wine list of over 100 Italian wines. Situated on the mezzanine floor of the hotel with panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong Island skyline, Angelini combines a comfortable and inviting ambience with stylish, contemporary decor.

Tapas Bar is a wine bar where guests can find a wide selection of New World wines and international tapas accompanied with harbour views. Guests can choose to enjoy a glass of wine and international tapas in the comfort of the bar or under the stars in the open air. In 2003 and 2004, the US magazine Wine Spectator honoured Tapas Bar with the “Award of Excellence”. Tapas Bar also features an open kitchen serving a range of international tapas as snacks or for a meal.
