Located Oceanside Between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale

Benchmark Hospitality International announced today the addition of the newly renamed Marenas Resort, located in Sunny Isles Beach (Miami), Florida, to the company’s expanding portfolio. The rebranding of this exquisite oceanside resort marks a new beginning for the property, which originally opened as Le Méridien. Marenas Resort is now the fourth luxurious Florida property operated by Benchmark Hospitality. The company also manages Costa d’Este Beach Resort, owned by the internationally acclaimed recording artist/producer couple Gloria and Emilio Estefan and located in Vero Beach; the award-winning Naples Bay Resort, Naples only property with direct water access to Naples Bay and the Gulf of Mexico; and The Villas of Grand Cypress Resort in Orlando, which was added to Benchmark’s portfolio earlier this month. Burt Cabañas, chairman and CEO of Benchmark Hospitality International, made the announcement.

“We are so pleased to welcome Marenas Resort to Benchmark Hospitality’s growing family of luxury properties,” said Mr. Cabañas. “The resort’s magnificent location on a barrier island just north of Miami, with its ease of access to significant transportation arteries and major airports, makes it ideal for leisure travelers, social gatherings and corporate meetings.”

The Marenas Resort’s new name draws from its location, evoking the sea and the sand ~ mar y arenas ~ in Spanish. The property is situated oceanside on a 2.5-mile stretch of white sand beach in Sunny Isles Beach, on a barrier island between the Atlantic and the Intracoastal Waterway. Marenas Resort provides glorious views of the turquoise Atlantic and blends the best of south Florida’s glamorous “Rivera Coast” with international, modern style. Exclusive shopping is available at nearby Aventura Mall, one of the nation’s top high-end retail addresses, and Bal Harbour Shops, a leading outdoor shopping experience with boutiques featuring top American and European designers.

The world-class Land Shark Stadium, formerly Dolphin Stadium, is located minutes away in Miami Gardens. An entertainment facility that is home to the Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins, University of Miami football, FedEx Orange Bowl and other major sporting events, Land Shark Stadium has been host to four NFL Super Bowls -- and will host Super Bowl XLIV February 7, 2010, three BCS college national championships, and two MLB World Series.

Miami’s renowned South Beach with its endless night life and superb dining, and sophisticated Ft. Lauderdale are a short distance away. Historic Key Biscayne and the storied Florida Everglades are less than 30 minutes away.

Marenas Resort’s striking stainless steel and glass hotel tower includes 48 first-class guestrooms as well as 142 one- and two-bedroom suites, each with a full kitchen and spacious contemporary interiors. Breathtaking views of the Atlantic or Intracoastal Waterway are available from all guest accommodations, providing endless sunrise and sunset vistas to guests. The property’s sophisticated European Spa offers a menu of treatments designed to enhance guests’ wellbeing. A state-of-the-art Health Club is complemented with the resort’s beautiful outdoor pool.

The Marenas Resort offers an elegant Boardroom featuring a classic wood-paneled ambiance with cutting-edge technology, as well as the 925-square-foot Ocean Terrace Room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Atlantic. The Ocean Terrace is an exceptional venue for important corporate meetings, weddings, and other social gatherings. Additionally, expansive outdoor terraces feature ocean views, ideal for social and corporate events.

The resort’s Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, the property’s main dining room, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Lobby Lounge serves light fare and beverages, as does the Pool and Beach Bar.

A member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the ultimate luxury collection featuring more than 185 exceptional hotels and resorts in the most desirable locations around the world, and operated by Benchmark Hospitality International, Marenas Resort is where sea, sand and sun blend harmoniously to create a must-experience South Florida oceanside destination.
