At Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort and Spa, Maldives, guests can enjoy the traditional European festive season with a difference. Whether guests are looking for a family vacation, a romantic getaway or an escape from the usual Christmas atmosphere, the resort offers it all.
Located on a three-kilometre long island, the resort has the luxury of space, offering a way for everyone to enjoy the festive season. Santa Claus will surprise children with an appearance and a special gift-giving party, while guests preferring to venture out on the ocean can enjoy sipping a glass of Champagne as they cruise aboard the resort’s luxury yacht.
CHI, The Spa will offer two specially designed treatments for the occasion. Couples and spa-lovers will be able to dip themselves into the scents of clove and cinnamon for a guaranteed festive feeling, or try a local sea salt scrub followed by a refreshing ginger and lemongrass moisturiser for a tropical experience.
The restaurants will also be innovative, with a variety of themed nights featuring the cuisines of the world, including a New Year’s Eve gala dinner set around the resort’s main pool, and centred on the five elements of wood, metal, water, earth and fire. The in-Villa dining team will also offer intimate dining options for guests preferring a quiet evening.
As part of the celebrations, Shangri-La’s Villingili Resort and Spa, Maldives is currently offering one complimentary night’s stay to all guests booking a minimum seven-night stay over the festive season (24 December 2009 to 15 January 2010) in one of the resort’s Water Villas before 25 November 2009.
