Well-known for showcasing the region’s abundant local products and world-famous wines - Santé at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa has been awarded the prestigious Michelin star. Of the thousands of restaurants studied by Michelin’s judges only an elite few receive the coveted Michelin stars.

A Michelin star is the icing on a rich cake for the lauded Santé, a recipient of multiple rankings including those bestowed by Wine Spectator, AAA Four Diamond, and Zagat. Santé is home to a host of outstanding chefs led by Chef de Cuisine, Andrew Cain and including- William Birks, Ryan Hicks, Sonny Rios, Juan Galindo, Gabriel Thompson, KC Martinez, Ben Golden, Nick Urban and Esteban Soria.
According to Michelin Guide Director, Jean-Luc Naret, five criteria are used for awarding stars: product quality, preparation and flavors, the cuisine's personality, value and consistency.
