New York’s Jumeirah Essex House Takes Top Honors in Two Categories at the 2009 World Travel Awards (United States)

Jumeirah Essex House Awarded “North America’s Leading Business Hotel” and “United States’ Leading Business Hotel”

New York City’s iconic Jumeirah Essex House was the proud recipient of two awards at the prestigious 16th Annual Travel Awards. The Jumeirah Essex House won the titles of “North America’s Leading Business Hotel” and “United States’ Leading Business Hotel” for the fourth consecutive year.

Representatives from more than 500 leading hotel companies traveled to Yucatan, Mexico on Monday, September 21 for a celebration of leadership in the hospitality industry in North and Central America. The World Travel Awards recognizes and upholds excellence and innovation in travel and tourism, making it one of the most esteemed travel accolades.

“We are delighted and honored to have received an award in two prestigious categories,” said Gary Schweikert, Vice President, Operations-Americas and General Manager of the Jumeirah Essex House. “We are proud that Jumeirah's continuous customer focus and our commitment to exceptional service and innovative practices have been recognized within our industry.”

Voting for the Americas categories started in March of this year and ended in August. The winners of The Americas Awards Ceremony will automatically be put forward as nominees in their respective global categories. The world winners will be announced at the Annual World Travel Awards Gala Ceremony in London this November.
