Fight Stress With Happiness, Find Comfort In History, And Feed Your Inner Child With Retro Dishes And Desserts

Sitting on the scenic sands of the Santa Monica coastline, Casa del Mar offers guests the opportunity to enjoy life's simple pleasures and feel young with the new "Live Well Again" program. Combating the stress of daily life with happiness and good, old-fashioned fun, Casa del Mar brings a sense of whimsy and wellness with a new retro food and drink menu, 1920s-style photo booth, Zoltar machine, and a Sunday Bubbly Brunch with a nostalgic dessert bar. The new spirit of "Live Well Again" provides a much-needed infusion of playful sophistication in today's fast-paced and high-tech world.

"We wanted to create an environment at Casa del Mar that reminds guests of their youth and encourages them to embrace a sense of fun in their everyday lives," explains James Barela, General Manager of Casa del Mar. "With items like our twist on the classic Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich and board games from multiple decades, we're providing simple and fun pleasures that have a hint of nostalgia, but are updated to fit today's modern times."

RETRO FOOD & DRINKS

Casa del Mar brings back some nostalgic favorites with a new lobby lounge menu featuring House Made Truffled Popcorn (a playful version of Cracker Jacks, complete with prizes), Macaroni and Cheese with Black Truffles, Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich with House Made Concord Grape Jam, Deviled Eggs, and Oysters on the Half Shell. Specialty cocktails inspired by the classics include the Heirloom Tomato Bloody Mary made with local tomatoes and fresh horseradish; Pomegranate Gimlet, a classic cocktail made with Pomegranate juice and Hendrick's Gin; Grape Nehi, a vodka cocktail with muddled grapes, mint and lemon; Ginger-Rye, made with homemade Ginger Ale and Rye; and the Strawberry Old Fashioned, made with house-infused strawberry Knobb Creek. Casa del Mar invites guests to take a step back in time and enjoy a sense of youth, with a modern twist.

BUBBLY BRUNCH

The ultimate complement to Casa del Mar's new "Live Well Again" program is the new Sunday "Bubbly Brunch." With family-friendly food and bottomless bubbly for adults, Casa del Mar offers guests of all ages the perfect setting, cuisine and the best views in Santa Monica to relax and laugh on a Sunday. Giggles will abound as children and kids-at-heart confront the retro dessert buffet, complete with Mini Eclairs, Crepes Suzette, Warm Milk Chocolate Bread Pudding, an Ice Cream Station and more. The "Bubbly Brunch" is $29, with bottomless bubbly for an additional $8.99, and is offered on the Veranda from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., starting October 18, 2009. Please call (310) 587-1789 for reservations.

UNVEILING THE PHOTO BOOTH & ZOLTAR MACHINE

Following the smashing success of a social media contest inviting guests to guess "What's Under The Sheets" at Hotel Casa del Mar, a new layer of fanciful fun is unveiled, revealing a retro photo booth and vintage Zoltar Machine, straight from the boardwalks and carnivals of yesteryear. Greeting guests when they first enter the hotel, both vintage favorites are re-imagined with a modern twist. The photo booth will generate two full color digitally sharp strips for $5 and the Zoltar Machine will reveal a "Ticket to Wellness." Lucky guests could walk away with a "ticket" granting 10% off their next treatment at SEA Wellness Spa.

To complete this storybook tale, trunks of classic board games will be available in the lobby, along with tabletop fortune-tellers to predict a bright and shiny future. Casa looks to incite memories of simpler times with a fun, modern flair. At Hotel Casa del Mar, seasoned travelers will find the opportunity to "Live Well Again" as they enter this newly re-imagined space, embark on future adventures and reenter their daily routine with a smile.
