As part of its 2009 Dream Calendar, Huvafen Fushi by Per AQUUM will host the live launch of the Hôtel Costes XII album by Stéphane Pompougnac on 26 November, treating guests to an evening of Parisian luxury and refinement in the surrounds of the Maldives’ hippest resort.

The multi-million selling Hôtel Costes compilation series is the ultimate reference in luxury and sophistication. With Pompougnac selecting the very best of inventive music and inspiring sounds, each volume is an impeccable, intimate mix of exclusive tracks in the pure spirit of Hôtel Costes. On his return to Huvafen Fushi following last year’s successful launch of Hôtel Costes XI at the resort, Pompougnac says “Spinning my live shows in New York, Madrid, Sao Paolo, and Bangkok gives me great joy, but when I play at Huvafen Fushi in the Maldives, it’s totally different, a feeling like nowhere else.”

Pompougnac also spins for Les Venues de la Mode, the fashion equivalent of the Oscars, and is the go-to DJ for a select few, having been chosen by Nicole Kidman to play at Cannes for the release of "Moulin Rouge"; performed at Cameron Diaz’s former restaurant, the Bamboo Bar, in Miami; as well as playing at the London premier of Ali. In between residency gigs at Hôtel Costes, he has played at Estella Warren's birthday party in New York and at Club Indochine in Zurich for Christy Turlington. He has also remixed tracks for Madonna, on her ‘Ray of Light’ album, while REM lead singer, Michael Stipe performed on Pompougnac’s 2003 release.

Stéphane Pompougnac will be closing the 2009 Huvafen Fushi Dream Calendar, which has brought some of the world’s finest in music, cuisine, art and wellbeing to Huvafen Fushi’s shores, offering guests a series of one-of-a-kind experiences in the Maldives. The resort has previously hosted renowned spa gurus, artists, winemakers, designers, chefs and DJs, including performances by Claude Challé and DJ Ravin, the artists behind the Buddha-bar album series, as well as José Padilla from the sun-drenched Café Del Mar albums.

In 2010, Huvafen Fushi will host acclaimed martial artist and choreographer Terry Kvasnik, fresh from Britney Spears’ Circus tour; Jemma Rivera, Qi Gong expert; France’s number one male electronic artist, Martin Solveig; as well as welcoming back fashion photographer, Milan Josipovic.
