HIROSHI KAGATA EXECUTIVE CHEF, KEYAKI
Hiroshi Kagata has been appointed Executive Chef of Keyaki restaurant at Pan Pacific Singapore.
With a geographically-diverse experience including Japan, Thailand, Australia, Malaysia and Hawaii, Chef Kagata’s most recent position was at award-winning restaurant Kira at Crown Casino hotel, Macau, which was awarded top marks for Japanese restaurants in the inaugural Michelin Hong Kong Macau guide in 2008. With 25 years of experience in Japanese fine dining, he is one of the few chefs in Singapore with a license to handle puffer fish (fugu) and specialises in the art of kaiseki and sashimi.
Chef Kagata will continue the tradition of classic Japanese cuisine at the newly-renovated Keyaki and presentations featuring Japan’s seasonal best as well as sashimi delivered from Tsukiji market in Tokyo four times weekly. With Chef Kagata’s wealth of experience and culinary grounding in formal Japanese cuisine, guests can expect a multi-sensorial dining experience encompassing artful culinary presentations, exquisite aromas and flavours and a sense of graceful warm service that is the hallmark of fine Japanese dining establishments. Conoisseurs can also opt for omakase, a rare culinary art by only highly-skilled chefs consisting of prime seasonal ingredients adapted to guests’ preferences. Omakase is regarded as the ultimate culinary indulgence where the guest entrusts the culinary experience entirely to the chef.
