Another strong indication of the continuing prestige and reputation for excellence of The Ritz-Carlton in the minds of affluent travelers appears in the results of the recent Luxury Brand Tracking Study. Overall, The Ritz-Carlton has become the most preferred luxury brand among other hotels in their competitive set, improving its position from the first half of 2008 to the first half of 2009. “This is especially gratifying in light of the challenging economic conditions which the luxury hotel industry has faced over the past year,” said Simon F. Cooper, president and chief operating officer. Among the attributes where The Ritz-Carlton led Four Seasons Hotels—our major competitor- are brand awareness, brand usage for business and leisure, and important impressions including “prestigious”, “timeless”, “service above and beyond” and “Leader.”
