Big Ben, the Crown Jewels, the London Underground, black cabs, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the London Eye will give London visitors not only something to feast their eyes on, but also something on which to feast their appetite. TLSee (Tea, London and Sightseeing), the new afternoon tea concept at Swissôtel The Howard, London, treats guests to edible versions of the famous sights of the city on the Thames.
With TLSee, nine different London landmarks, some in 3D, are served up alongside traditional finger sandwiches and home-baked scones. Executive Chef Brian Spark has had special cake tins made to his exact requirements, and the TLSee treats are freshly prepared using these in the hotel patisserie. “Afternoon tea is popular with locals and tourists alike, und we have come up with a novel, humorous variant in the form of TLSee”, says Andreas Stys, General Manager of Swissôtel The Howard, London. “So anyone visiting London who doesn’t make it to Big Ben can at least enjoy the landmark in the form of a chocolate cake while taking a break at our hotel. Incidentally the name TLSee is derived from the common English expression TLC, which stands for tender loving care.”
