Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) announced today the grand opening of the new Sheraton Midwest City Hotel & Conference Center. The 150-room hotel is owned by the City of Midwest City and managed by Arlington, Texas-based De Palma Hotel Corporation. Situated across from Tinker Air Force Base and six miles from Oklahoma City, OK, the Sheraton Midwest City Hotel & Conference Center is attached to the 60,000-square-foot Reed Center, an ultra-modern meeting and convention facility that features state-of-the-art technological amenities, the perfect venue for large business conferences or trade shows.

Utilizing the Sheraton prototype design which was created to serve the growing market demand of key suburban cities, the Sheraton Midwest City Hotel & Conference Center is the only full-service upscale hotel in the area and the second Sheraton prototype hotel to open - with the Sheraton Minneapolis Midtown as the first to open in December '05.

"We are thrilled to celebrate the opening of this second Sheraton prototype hotel and know that it will be a huge success in Midwest City, "said Joe Gelchion, senior vice president, Sheraton Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. "We are excited to see this prototype development come to life and see it as a great fit for this growing suburban market area. Most of all, we look forward to offering guests Sheraton's signature services and amenities in a warm, comfortable environment."

"The De Palma Hotel Corporation is proud to be associated with Starwood as we open the doors on this prestigious prototype new build," said Joseph N. DePalma, senior president and CEO DePalma Hotel Corporation. "When you begin with a new, modern but classic example of architecture and blend it to a state-of -the-art facility like the Reed Conference Center, it is a win-win for all involved."

The exterior design of the hotel features urban architecture with a 19th century American park design. A porte cochere sets the tone for a timeless and classic interior of mahogany, suede wall coverings, leather furnishings and dramatic lighting. A covered glass walkway connects directly to the Reed Center with corridors featuring local art exhibits. Six hospitality suites lead out to a scenic and lush landscape courtyard. An upscale, full-service restaurant, offering three meals a day, is located on-premise.

This newly designed Sheraton prototype features the new Sheraton guest room - a nod to Sheraton's classic aesthetic with a traditional Soho-like design combined with rich jewel-tone colors, meticulously mill worked desks, and the newly introduced Sheraton Sweet Sleeper(SM) Bed inspired by timeless tattersall checks and pinstripe patterns. The luxurious nine-layer custom designed bed features an 11.5 inch thick, high coil count Sealy Posturepedic(R) Plush Top mattress, down and allergy sensitive pillows and crisp cotton sheets.

The bathrooms are spacious and bright with an upscale feel reminiscent of a master suite with retro chrome fittings on a freestanding marble vanity. The health club, with indoor swimming pool and whirlpool, is expansive and offers guests another upscale amenity with the latest in exercise equipment and recreational facilities.
