- Deutsche Messe and Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH Join Forces to Offer an Accommodation Booking Service
From now on it will be even faster and easier for exhibition visitors and tourists to book a hotel in the Hannover region. From October 1, some 140 hotels in the region will be marketed via a single source. Deutsche Messe and Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH (HMTG) have established a standardized accommodation booking service and agreed to pool their resources in the future.
"Deutsche Messe is keen to provide visitors and exhibitors from all over the world with a professional and cost-effective accommodation booking service," explains Dr. Wolfram von Fritsch, Chairman of the Managing Board of Deutsche Messe.
First and foremost, the new service features an international online booking system, which is available in 20 languages. From October 1, 2009, a dedicated hotel booking portal for each trade fair will be available via the http://www.hannover.de website. Visitors will also benefit from the accommodation booking service based in the tourist information center on Ernst-August-Platz - and available throughout the year. For the duration of
trade fairs, additional offices will be opened at Hannover Airport and the exhibition center. Visitors will not have to pay any additional fee for this accommodation service - not even during trade fairs.
In view of the partnership with HMTG, Deutsche Messe will be
discontinuing its activities with Travel2Fairs for the time being. Travel2Fairs had been responsible for handling visitors' accommodation requirements in recent years. Von Fritsch went on to add that HMTG had established a professional service for tourists and was now in the position to provide a complete range of services for Hannover from a single source.
Hans Nolte, Managing Director of HMTG, added: "To be able to hold our own as a successful national and international trade fair and congress location in the face of stiff global competition, Hannover must be able to offers its guests a flexible and international accommodation booking service."
Those interested in getting a first impression of the new hotel booking portal can visit http://www.hannover.d /hotels, which will serve as the central platform for accommodation queries until 1 October 2009.
