X2 Resort Samui has been selected to be an integral part of an innovative strategy to introduce Koh Samui to the mainland Chinese market to boost the tourism industry in Thailand.
Samui Sunshine is a Samui based travel company that have been innovative enough to seek and secure new markets by chartering flights from mainland China to Thailand. This inaugural initiative has been an excellent success receiving an overwhelmingly positive response from the selected resorts who hosted the guests and even more importantly from the Chinese guests themselves, many of whom were on their first trip to Thailand.
Given the depressed state of the hospitality industry both worldwide and locally, X2 Resorts applauds and supports Samui Sunshine in their endeavours to seek new guests and expose them to the fascinating country and friendly people of Thailand.
X2 Samui hosted 24 guests over a period of 3 days. On arrival the Chinese guests and guides were met personally by Astudo Hotel & Resort Group’s Operations Manager, Mr J Paul Snow, along with Khun Pasuta Sukmanop, the X2 Samui Resort Manager and all other X2 Resort Department Heads. All guests were upgraded to X2 Pool Villas and while much of their time was spent touring many of Samui's iconic tourist spots and immersing themselves in Thailand’s culture, the X2 swimming pool and 4K Restaurant, overlooking the beachfront, were well utilized into the late hours of the evening as the Chinese guests made forages into genuine Thai cuisine for the first time while relaxing in the stunningly beautiful and peaceful surroundings the X2 resort in Hua Thanon has to offer. China must have seemed a world away for all of them and when it was time to depart it was obvious that Samui Sunshine's vision has become a reality with all guests vowing to return again soon.
