Hilton San Francisco Airport Guestrooms Are Among the Largest in SFO Area

The hotel brand that invented the airport hotel concept lands at SFO today with the conversion of the Hilton San Francisco Airport, formerly known as the Sheraton Gateway San Francisco Airport.

The hotel’s central location is convenient to downtown San Francisco, Silicon Valley’s business parks and the San Francisco Airport (SFO). Bordering the historic San Francisco Bay, the newest Hilton hotel boasts guestrooms and guest bathrooms that are among the largest of any SFO area hotel. The modern 400-room property completed an extensive renovation of all guestrooms and its executive lounge and lobby in 2008, and is well-suited for tech savvy business travelers, meeting attendees and vacationers alike.

“The Hilton San Francisco Airport is a notable addition to our portfolio in the Bay Area as we welcome guests traveling to the region’s high-tech and bio-tech worlds,” said Dave Horton, Global Head – Hilton Brand. “Hilton introduced the industry’s first airport hotel and today this hotel embodies our forward-thinking, stylish approach to travel.”

Just three miles south of the San Francisco Airport, 20 minutes from the city of San Francisco and a half hour from Silicon Valley, the Hilton San Francisco Airport offers spectacular sweeping views of the San Francisco Bay waterfront and hillside and is surrounded by parks, nature trails and a nearby inlet for windsurfing. The hotel is also minutes away by car or complimentary trolley from downtown Burlingame, with upscale dining and shopping choices.

“Our region is an international destination and we are proud to be part of Hilton, the global hospitality leader,” said Lawrence Lui, President, Stanford Hotels. “The combination of Hilton’s world class service standards, products and amenities with large guestrooms, picturesque views and in room technology enables us to offer a premium experience.”

Offering a comfortable retreat, each spacious guest room is furnished with Hilton’s signature upscale in room amenities. Guestrooms feature an oversized bathroom with ample counter space and the Hilton Serenity Bath Collection, with the exclusive Crabtree & Evelyn line of La Source® bath products. Other standard amenities include a Cuisinart® dual-cup, single brew coffeemaker with Lavazza® coffee; the easy-to-set Hilton alarm clock with MP3 player connectivity; and high-speed and wireless Internet access. Executive floor guests can enjoy upgraded in-room amenities as well as daily breakfast service and an evening hospitality hour in the Executive Lounge overlooking the San Francisco Bay.

To provide the latest perks for the tech-savvy traveler, all of the hotel’s 400 rooms feature the technologically advanced GuestLink™ system, which includes a 42-inch flat-screen HDTV multi-media monitor that allows guests to plug in digital devices such as a laptop computer, game station console, video/camera or iPod for a larger viewing experience. A sleek, custom-built workspace and ergonomic chair also help guests stay productive while on the road.

An ideal spot for meeting and incentive groups, the hotel offers eleven function rooms with flexible meeting space for everything from a corporate conference or business meeting to an intimate gathering or lavish banquet. For added convenience, the hotel also features complimentary Wi-Fi hotspots in the lobby and public areas and a 24-hour business center. Enhancements to the hotel will include the addition of Hilton Meetings, the industry leading small meetings product.

Fitness-oriented leisure travelers will particularly enjoy the hotel’s many scenic jogging and bike paths, nearby golf and tennis offerings and indoor heated swimming pool. The hotel’s fitness center will be upgraded to a Hilton Fitness by Precor facility.

Foodies can indulge in California-inspired creations prepared by the hotel’s award-winning culinary team at Windows on the Bay restaurant, overlooking the San Francisco Bay. The restaurant also serves Hilton Breakfast, a unique color-coded breakfast buffet that helps travelers choose healthier food options.

Guests are eligible to earn Hilton HHonors points and miles. Reservations can be made through Hilton Reservations Worldwide at 1-800-HILTONS or by visiting www.hilton.com.

Located at 600 Airport Boulevard in Burlingame, the hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to and from the San Francisco Airport and a courtesy shuttle to BART (light rail) for service to San Francisco and other Bay Area destinations.
