Brand Performance Consultant Christopher Arnett Honored for Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility

At the company’s recent all associate meeting, a select number of associates were named among the company’s best of the best for their various contributions to the organization. Among these honorees was Christopher Arnett, one of the company’s Brand Performance Consultants, who was given the Choice Hotels Humanitarian Award for his continued commitment to corporate social responsibility, due in part to his specific efforts within the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.

An array of Arnett’s fellow colleagues nominated him for this prestigious award, saying “[Arnett] is committed to making Choice as great a place to work for the GLBT community as it is for everyone else.”

Part of Arnett’s humanitarian efforts over the past 12 months include the creation of the company’s first-ever employee resource group for GLBT associates. Introducing the idea to senior level management at the company himself, Arnett reached out to associates to find other advocates, putting together a steering committee with associates from all branches of the organization.

“Ever present in his philosophy and ideas is the good of Choice Hotels as a responsible citizen, as a fair employer, and as a worthy supplier of hotel rooms,” his colleagues added. “Chris worked with his steering committee to identify a non-profit that serves homeless GLBT youth and was instrumental in connecting with that charity through the Choice Hotels International Foundation so that a much-needed contribution could be made.”

“Employee resource groups contribute significantly to a company’s diversity efforts,” said Maria D’Ambrosio, senior director of Inclusion and Diversity for Choice Hotels. “Chris’ plan to create our GLBT resource group and the work of the group itself has truly added value at Choice.”

Part of the main mission of Arnett’s committee, Choice PRIDE, is to raise awareness and understanding of the GLBT community among the general population of associates at Choice Hotels. This commitment to the value of respect, inclusion and diversity was driven by Arnett and his goal to create Choice PRIDE.

Choice Hotels is pleased to recognize Christopher Arnett for the tremendous amount of work he puts into the organization’s humanitarian efforts. The Choice Hotels Humanitarian Award is part of the company’s annual Extraordinary Performance, or EXP, awards program.
