Hilton Hangzhou Qianjiang to open in China by Q1 2014

Hilton Hotels Corporation (Hilton) has signed through its subsidiary an agreement to manage the Hilton Hangzhou Qianjiang, China. Opening in the first quarter of 2014, the 300-room hotel will be the first Hilton hotel in Hangzhou. The hotel will be owned by Zhejiang Huafon Real Estate Development Co. Ltd – a joint venture including Huafon Group Co. Ltd., Dicara Co. Ltd., and Zhejiang Zheshang Co., Ltd.

The Hilton Hangzhou Qianjiang will be located in the 200-metre high “Dicara Golden Tower” on a prime site in Qianjiang New City of Hangzhou. Qianjiang New City is planned to become a new Central Business District (CBD) in Hangzhou.

Martin Rinck, President – Asia Pacific, Hilton Hotels Corporation commented, “We are delighted to be working with Zhejiang Huafon Real Estate Development Co. Ltd. on this exciting project. This will be the first Hilton hotel in Hangzhou and we aim to make the Hilton Hangzhou Qianjiang the preferred choice for the discerning travellers.”

The deal marks the latest milestone in Hilton’s expansion plans in China, which include 28 hotels under development. With more than 500 hotels in 76 countries around the world, the Hilton Hotel brand is found in more countries than any other full service hotel brand. The brand plans to serve 78 countries by the end of 2009.

“Hilton looks forward to becoming an integral part of the Hangzhou community,” said Dave Horton, Global Head – Hilton Hotels. “The Hilton Hangzhou Qianjiang is an exciting project that combines the service, amenities and innovation that define Hilton as the global leader of hospitality.”

The Hilton Hangzhou Qianjiang will comprise extensive food and beverage outlets and innovative meeting space including a ballroom, function rooms, meeting rooms and boardrooms. For recreation, guests will be able to choose among the hotel fitness centre, spa and treatment rooms, in-door thermal swimming pool and retail outlets.

Mr. Xie Qingbao, Chairman of Dicara Co. Ltd. commented, “Hilton is a well recognised brand name in China, known for superior service and quality. We believe by teaming up with the Hilton, this development will deliver a unique city experience for leisure and business travellers alike”.

Dubbed “Heaven on Earth in China”¹, Hangzhou’s natural beauty and cultural heritage has long been an important national tourist destination in China. Today, Hangzhou continues to attract visitors from across the country as well as from overseas.

Surrounded by key commercial and municipal buildings of Hangzhou, the hotel is a 20-minute drive from the Xiaoshan International Airport and an 8-minute drive to Hangzhou Railway Station. The provincial capital of Zhejiang is one of the thriving cities in the Yangtze Delta region, and is within an hour’s drive to Shanghai.
