Summit Hotels & Resorts, a brand of Preferred Hotel Group, is pleased to announce its newest member in Hong Kong - The Mira Hong Kong. The Summit Hotels & Resorts collection includes more than 150 internationally acclaimed hotels and resorts that celebrate local luxury.

Centrally located on Nathan Road in Tsimshatsui, The Mira Hong Kong is situated in the heart of Hong Kong's commercial, shopping, dining, and entertainment district. Located close to local subway (MTR) and the Star Ferry, the hotel connects easily to all parts of Hong Kong. A design-led, upscale urban hotel, The Mira Hong Kong is establishing itself as Hong Kong's hottest new address. Showcasing cutting-edge contemporary design, ambient soundscapes, highly personalised service, and uniquely styled interiors, the hotel's boldly accented guestrooms feature signature red, green and silver colour schemes, in addition to The Mira Club floor's purple-themed rooms. Iconic design pieces such as the Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair feature prominently in each room, alongside tech-savvy features including the "My Mobile" phone, the "My Mira" personalised concierge service, PC and Entertainment Centre, LCD TV and Blu-ray DVD player, Bose iPod dock, complimentary WiFi and wired Internet access, a safe with laptop charger, and a comforting pillow menu.

Since 2007, an international team of design masterminds have been commissioned to oversee a US$65 million renovation, led by world-renowned US lifestyle guru Colin Cowie and Miami-based interior architect Charles Allem. Completing the last phase of the renovation in September, four gourmet restaurants and three bars and lounges will present expertly prepared European, Chinese, and international cuisine, against a backdrop of stunning interiors. The MiraSpa, opening in October, will be a new spa concept managed by the hotel. Complemented by the indoor infinity-edge pool and fitness centre, the spa will encompass 18,000 square-feet dedicated to total fitness, beauty, and wellness. A stunning 14,149 square-feet of events space features eight flexible function rooms, a rooftop garden lounge, and Hong Kong's largest pillarless ballroom, featuring 25,000 lighting combinations, state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and a selection of especially designed table settings by Colin Cowie.

"The Mira Hong Kong is now one of the city's most hip, upscale, and technologically advanced hotels. With its superb location on Nathan Road and accessibility to all modes of transport, it is poised to be a hugely successful business and leisure hotel," says Mark Simmons, Preferred Hotel Group Area Managing Director, Asia.

Dirk Dalichau, General Manager of The Mira Hong Kong, adds, "The Mira Hong Kong is proud to be part of Summit Hotels & Resorts, representing an important step in our ambition to grow the brand in Asia-Pacific and expanding its recognition and awareness strategically. Guest feedback tells us overwhelmingly that The Mira Hong Kong's unique combination of a designer hotel and standout service concept is a refreshing alternative to the city's more traditional hotels. Our guests feel at ease in a contemporary and technology rich environment; safe in the knowledge that their needs will be met with an intuitive, personal touch."
