Bon Appétit!

You know what they say: imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Just ask Julie Powell, who embarked on a year-long culinary quest to cook all 524 recipes in Julia Child's seminal cookbook, "Mastering the Art of French Cooking."

While Powell's chronicles might be fodder for a major motion picture, she's not the only one to be inspired by the original celebrity chef. As a young cook at Four Seasons Hotel Boston, Darryl Moiles was often dazzled by Child, a dining room regular who occasionally found her way to the kitchen.

In celebration of the premiere of "Julie and Julia," Moiles, now Executive Chef at Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach, is recreating his own favourite recipes from the cookbook for diners to enjoy. This week, try Escalopes de Veau Chasseur (page 368) or Sole a la Dieppoise (page 214) followed by Souffle au Chocolat (page 619) or Tarte aux Fraises (page 640). Rest assured, the weekly changing menu would have been approved by the lady of the ladle herself.

Visit The Ocean Bistro at Four Seasons Resort Palm Beach for dinner between now and September 4, 2009 and be inspired to master the art of French eating.
