RockResorts Welcomes Another Warm Weather Destination into its Collection with the Addition of Balcones Del Atlántico in the Dominican Republic

RockResorts International, LLC announced today it will expand its international hotel portfolio with the addition of Balcones Del Atlántico, A RockResort, a beachfront resort in the village of Las Terrenas on the Samaná Peninsula of the Dominican Republic. RockResorts has been selected by Bisonó Group to manage resort operations, offer technical advisory services and provide marketing licensing services to assist in the sale of the residences for the property. With an anticipated grand opening this winter season, the resort will initially feature 86 units. Ideally situated along the sparkling waters of the white sand beaches, both the RockResorts Spa with four private treatment cabanas and the three-meal restaurant offering fine dining for dinner, will allow guests to enjoy some of the most breathtaking views of the region. Additionally, the resort will feature two pools with a swim-up bar, a beach bar and grill, fitness center and gourmet deli shoppe. RockResorts, a resort hotel company headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Vail Resorts, Inc. (NYSE:MTN).

“We are extremely excited to be adding another Caribbean property to our growing collection of luxury resorts. Balcones Del Atlántico exemplifies RockResorts’ commitment to offering carefully selected properties in awe-inspiring settings and iconic locations. In addition, this property honors the history of RockResorts since the brand was originally created in 1956 by Laurence Rockefeller with a strong focus on the Caribbean market,” said Rob Katz, CEO of Vail Resorts. “As a Company, we are committed to providing guests with extraordinary resorts and exceptional experiences and Balcones Del Atlántico will surely uphold this standard of excellence and is a perfect complement to our other RockResorts properties in the region and abroad.”

Balcones del Atlántico has been conceived as a resort destination property that includes units of varying sizes ranging from one to three bedroom suites, along approximately one kilometer of the most spectacular beach in the country. Balcones Del Atlántico features an elegant and comfortable design with a strong emphasis on the outdoor spaces within each unit.

“Since RockResorts has proven to be dedicated to properties that highlight the unique beauty of their incredible surroundings, they were the ideal choice for the Bisonó Group” said Maximo Bisonó, President of Bisonó Enterprises, Tourism Developing Division and head of the Balcones del Atlántico project. “With white sand beaches and crystal clear water as a setting, Balcones Del Atlántico is a vibrant reflection of the best the Dominican Republic has to offer. We look forward to opening what will be considered the best luxury resort in the Dominican Republic.”

The Samaná Peninsula is one of the largest tourist destinations in the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic is a country easily accessible from many major tourist markets and international airports, offering direct air service from New York, Miami, Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Philadelphia, Puerto Rico, Panama and many more. In addition, the Samaná Peninsula has been blessed with tremendous natural attractions like the Haitises National Park, Salto del Limón Waterfalls, Rincón bay, Cosón bay (recipient of the Blue Flag designation) and the village Las Terrenas. Originating from the French term “La Terrienne” or “The Landlord,” Las Terrenas is a former fishing town in Samaná, located on the north coast of the peninsula. Las Terrenas brings together a myriad of cultures including French, German, Italian and Spanish influences and offers guests of Balcones del Atlántico additional options for dining, shopping, nightlife and other activities within a short walk along the beach.

Balcones del Atlántico, A RockResort, is a master-planned project that will be developed in a number of phases along the beach, and will eventually consist of approximately 350 total units, multiple restaurants and bars, two RockResorts Spas, swimming pools and hot tubs, tennis court, over water palapas and other guest amenities. Balcones Del Atlántico joins The Landings St. Lucia as well as other future warm-weather announced RockResorts including Tempo Miami, Rum Cay Resort Marina, The Bahamas and the Third Turtle Club & Spa, Turks and Caicos.
