Over the coming eight weeks or so, Karma Bali and Karma Samui will be hosting a series of exciting parties – from wine pairing dinners to full moon ho downs featuring top flight djs and performers from around the world. This edition and next month’s Chronicles too, we bring you a small selection of what’s happening and what to look forward to as we turn up the summertime heat.

When: June 26 – 29th

Where : Karma Samui

Who: Alex Taylor

The Lowdown: Sydney based spinner whose tastes run to the eclectic – Taylor is widely acknowledged as one of Australia’s most hard working and accomplished jocks. He’s spun everything from outback festivals to a private party for Madonna and never fails to satisfy with his blend of soulful house, big room, minmal and electro. He’s also produced for the likes of Crazy P and Inaya day and his mixes have appeared on such revered labels as Ministry of Sound. Enough said…

When: July 13 – July 20th

Where: Karma Kandara

Who: Graham Cordery

The Lowdown: This guy is a bona fide exponent of real house music and as founder of Australia’s biggest monthly House party SHE (Soulful House Music) the man responsible for bringing legendary acts like Marshall Jefferson, Bob Sinclair, Miguel Migs and Bobby & Steve to the ravening rave kids of Sydney. His sets are shot through with jazz, funk and soul, capturing that timeless organic vibe that is the beating heart of house music.

When: August 15th – 21st

Where: Karma Kandara

Who: Million Dollar Disco

The Lowdown: Glasgow based Million Dollar Disco is the brainchild of self-confessed disco obsessive Al Kent – it’s a label, party production outfit, forum and currently one of the UKs most respected disco camps. Led by Kent, the Million Dollar Orchestra released the impeccably retro debut album Better Days which sounded as Philly as anything MFSB every produced. Funk fuelled disco for your soul.
