A historic night in a historic place: Thomas Neeser to wield his culinary magic to the sounds of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony and a special Package to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Wall
To mark the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Wall, a splendid celebration will be held on Pariser Platz on November 9. Right in front of the festively illuminated Brandenburg Gate, the Staatskapelle Berlin and the chorus from the Deutsche Staatsoper will play Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony under the baton of Daniel Barenboim, and giant dominos will be set tumbling to inspire reflection on the day when the Berlin Wall finally came down*. For those who would like to listen to Beethoven’s immortal music and enjoy the atmosphere of this history-drenched place in stylish ambience, the legendary Hotel Adlon will be the perfect venue: To commemorate this unprecedented historical event, the five star deluxe Hotel right next to the Brandenburg Gate will provide a tempting choice of fine dining and evening entertainment.
The evening will start with an exclusive champagne reception on the heated terrace of the Adlon. From there, guests have a magnificent view of the Brandenburg Gate and will be able to listen to the magic sounds of Beethoven’s Fifth in an ambience of refined elegance. After the concert, guests can either spend this historic evening in one of the Adlon’s superior restaurants, or enjoy the privacy of the Hotel’s stylish suites.
To complement the musical delights, Thomas Neeser, Chef de Cuisine of Gourmet Restaurant Lorenz Adlon, will create Neeser’s Five, an exquisite five course menu comprising modern interpretations of traditional haute cuisine. On this historic evening, the guests of the Michelin-starred Restaurant will be served a composition of sturgeon roe, beetroot and green apple, followed by an intermezzo of codfish, lobster and chanterelles, and a quartet of white Alba truffle and pheasant with sweet chestnut and white cabbage. The main course will be a duet of fillet of veal and veal tail, accompanied by bramble, cauliflower and cocoa. The sweet finale will be a symphony of fig, coffee and mascarpone. The five course menu, including champagne reception, costs EUR 175.
* Program subject to change.
The guests of Restaurant Quarré can spend an evening in a relaxed atmosphere, yet just steps away from the hustle and bustle of Pariser Platz. Chef de cuisine Axel Hirtzbruch will enchant gourmets with a five course menu to the majestic sounds of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. The meal will start with carpaccio of veal and scallop; the Chef de Cuisine will then serve Havel pikeperch with beetroot and - the main course - Brandenburg duck with forest mushrooms. A composition of pumpkin and quince will top off the menu, which costs EUR 90.00 per person, including champagne reception.
Guests who would like to celebrate in a most exclusive ambience and spend this very special evening among an intimate circle of family, friends or business associates can book one of the Hotel’s “Brandenburger Tor” Suites for November 9. Each “Brandenburger Tor” Suite has a capacity for exclusive dinner parties of 10 to 15 people and will come with a personal butler to take care of every little detail and serve culinary delights such as tartar of scallops, fillet of beef with sautéed porcini mushrooms, grilled lobster tail with lime butter and carpaccio of pineapple with nougat parfait. The evening for a party of ten people in a “Brandenburger Tor” Suite costs EUR 4,000, including food, beverages and champagne upon arrival.
