Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced the appointment of Christoph Mares as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London. He replaces Liam Lambert, who has been appointed Operations Director, Europe for the Group.

Mr. Mares joined Mandarin Oriental in 2000 as Resident Manager of the Group’s flagship London property, following its significant renovation. After two years in the role, he took on General Manager positions within the Group’s properties in Munich and Paris.

Christoph joined the industry almost twenty years ago as a management apprentice with InterContinental Hotel Group and successfully broadened his experience through a number of senior assignments in Europe, North America and the Middle East. Further managerial positions with other luxury hotel groups in London and the Far East extended his knowledge of both city-based and resort properties.

“Christoph has the character and experience to build on the hotel’s reputation as one of London’s finest luxury hotels. We are delighted to welcome him to his new position as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, where he will lead a dynamic and quality focused team.” said Liam Lambert, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s Operations Director, Europe.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is the award-winning owner and operator of some of the world’s most prestigious hotels and resorts, currently operating 22 luxury hotels with a further seven under development in Prague and Riviera Maya, Mexico (2006), Boston (2007), Grand Cayman and Chicago (2008), Macau and Las Vegas (2009). In total, Mandarin Oriental now operates, or has under development, approximately 8,500 rooms in 16 countries with 13 hotels in Asia, 12 in the Americas and four in Europe.
