Sam & Harry's restaurant, the award winning steakhouse and wine cellar of the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center is celebrating summer with a complimentary evening event.

Taking place on Thursday, June 18, 2009, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., the popular hotel restaurant will feature delectable food and wine pairings by Chef Josh Humphrey, accompanied by live music on the outdoor terrace, allowing for guests to relish in the warmth of summers early sunset vistas.

Although the event is complimentary, guests must RSVP by Friday, June 12, 2009, which also enters them to win a superb bottle of vintage of Shafer "Relentless" Napa Valley, 2003, valued at $150. To RSVP, phone 847-303-4050 or visit www.renaissanceschaumburg.com.

Sam & Harry's restaurant in Schaumburg is located at 1551 N. Thoreau Drive, Schaumburg, Illinois, and features menu items from the chef's 100% organic herb garden. Grown on the terrace attached to the restaurant, the garden is mainly comprised of the "herb de provance". Maintained personally by Chef Humphrey, the garden is fertilized with waste from the restaurant's kitchen. Chef Humphrey typically picks early in the morning to ensure the best possible flavors from the herbs, before the heat of the sun at noon extracts their flavorful and aromatic oils.

Chef Humphrey also enjoys crafting mouth-watering menu options featuring fresh and seasonal ingredients. This summer, many menu items on the Sam & Harry's menu will include fresh California figs, organically-grown micro lettuce, Akaushi beef and Copper River salmon and Tazmanian trout.
