In December 2008, the Barceló Bávaro Beach Resort completed a multi-million dollar renovation project that included the addition of 488 junior suites with amenities for greater luxury and "greener" sustainability. Together, the junior suites make up Barceló Bávaro Beach Resort's new Barceló Bávaro Palace Deluxe, offering the best value in all-inclusive luxury travel in the Caribbean. New eco-friendly features also help ease travelers' minds as all junior suites include low consumption lights and LEDs, energy-conserving lighting and water control and flow-limiting faucets in both the sinks and showers.

While committed to providing the next generation of environmentally conscious accommodations, Barceló Bávaro Palace Deluxe also raises the standards of all-inclusive luxury with in-suite amenities such as:

- Private balcony or terrace with views of the Caribbean Sea
- Hydrotherapy whirlpool for two persons on the balcony or terrace of each junior suite
- Barceló's signature bedding, offering one of the best night's sleep in all of the Caribbean
- 32” LCD television
- Occupancy sensor to guarantee privacy from housekeeping
- Wi-Fi access, both in-room and throughout the entire resort complex
- Plush bathrobe and slippers
- Premium rain shower
- Alarm clock with iPod docking station

"At our new Barceló Bávaro Palace Deluxe, guests cannot only enjoy a more comfortable stay today, but they can also take comfort in knowing that they’ve selected a hotel that is contributing to sustaining the environment for tomorrow," said Claudio A. Zboznovits, vice president of sales and marketing in the U.S. and Canada.
