New Hotel Located in the Heart of One of Western Europe’s Most Romantic Cities.
Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) has announced that the 228-room Cologne Marriott Hotel has opened under a management agreement with Lange & Luehrmann Kalk-Karee GBR. It is the 10th Marriott branded hotel in Germany.
The Cologne Marriott Hotel is located in the Johannisstrasse complex and is perfectly located steps away from the historic cathedral in the center of the city. The former municipal building underwent an extensive restoration under the direction of a team of architects from Lange & Luerhmann. Famed interior designer, Keith Wright, chose warm colors and modern forms to complement key elements of the interior of the property.
The general manager is Wolfgang Gros. The director of sales and marketing is Andrea Ludy. Guests traveling to Cologne through the month of May may take advantage of a special grand opening rate of 149 euros per night, plus all applicable taxes. This rate includes breakfast, unlimited Internet access and 1,000 Marriott Rewards points per guest.
For dining, the Cologne Marriott Hotel offers Fou, the “Crazy Brasserie,” featuring both French and Asian cuisine served in the ambience of an upscale French brasserie. Guests may also enjoy an aperitif, or cocktail, in Plush Bar & Lounge, open for both lunch and dinner featuring a variety of international cuisine.
For business travelers, the hotel offers an executive level and lounge, as well as a full business center. Recreational amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center.
All guest rooms feature the new Marriott Revive beds complete with luxurious sheets and a white custom duvet to ensure a peaceful night’s rest. Other in-room amenities include a large, well-lit work desk, dual telephone lines with speaker and voicemail, high-speed Internet access, cable/satellite television and complimentary in-room coffee.
For meetings and events, the Cologne Marriott Hotel offers 11 meeting rooms and nearly 900 square meters of total meeting space.
