Seattle Hotel First to Take New Code “UN” as part of Luxury Hotel Group’s Effort to Track Sources of All Reservations, Provide Maximum Exposure for Properties
Sorrento Hotel, Seattle’s longest luxury running boutique hotel, is the first member of CARINO Hotels & Resorts Worldwide to implement the organization’s new Global Distribution System (GDS) code “UN”, the luxury hotel group announced today. CARINO Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, a sales and customer information company dedicated to assisting luxury hotels, has launched the GDS code so that participating members will now be able to see and track directly the measurable results that the organization delivers.
“We are so excited about the wonderful prospects for our members with the new GDS chain code,” said Joe Carino, president, CARINO Hotels & Resorts Worldwide. “Sorrento Hotel was one of the first properties to join CARINO for our sales and marketing support, and has always supported the efforts of our organization. We look forward to assisting them, as well as the rest of our member properties, as a 'one-stop' shop offering revenue and reservations support as well.”
Not only will the new GDS chain code “UN” provide the ability for members to track the source of all reservations, it also opens up new opportunities for exposure and promotion of the properties. Seamless connectivity allows members to enter their data once and feed it across multiple channels, providing maximum exposure to more customers. The GDS chain code will feed information to major travel agency systems including Sabre, Amadeus/Apollo/Gallileo, and Worldspan that connect directly to more than 600,000 travel agencies worldwide. In turn, these systems power consumer travel websites such as Orbitz, Travelocity and Expedia, among others. Thus, the GDS code will also allow CARINO Hotels & Resorts Worldwide members to reach both businesses and consumers concurrently for the very first time ever since the organization’s inception.
“We are thrilled to be the first CARINO hotel to adopt the new GDS chain code,” said Jeff Jobe, general manager, Sorrento Hotel. “As a member of the Advisory Board for CARINO, I was aware of and have been anticipating the introduction of this terrific tool, which will undoubtedly maximize our exposure through online distribution, opening up new opportunities to reach consumers as well as other businesses.”
CARINO Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will be using SynXis as its central reservation system provider. Through the partnership, consumers can book reservations at member hotels from CARINO’s branded website, or from the hotels’ own websites.
In addition to the new GDS chain code, CARINO Hotels & Resorts Worldwide plans to launch a new website, as well as a new 800 number and call center services for member properties. CARINO Hotels & Resorts Worldwide also recently changed its name from CARINO Collection in order to reflect a more global focus, and is currently in the process of re-branding the organization.
