JW Marriott Indianapolis Complex Introduces New Name - Marriott Place Indianapolis (United States)

Marriott Place Indianapolis Reaches Milestone of 100,000 Rooms Booked in Advance Sales

Marriott Place Indianapolis is the new name for a one-of-a-kind, spectacular hotel development featuring five interconnected Marriott hotels, 2,248 rooms and more than 145,000 square feet of meeting space, headquartered by the luxurious JW Marriott Indianapolis.

The 1,005-room JW Marriott Indianapolis, opening in February 2011, has reached a significant milestone of 100,000 hotel rooms booked in advance sales. The $450 million Marriott Place Indianapolis features include:

-- 1,626 new rooms under construction in the JW Marriott Indianapolis, Indianapolis Courtyard by Marriott Downtown (297 rooms), Indianapolis Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Downtown (168 rooms), and Indianapolis SpringHill Suites by Marriott Downtown (156 rooms).
-- JW Marriott Indianapolis hotel features 104,000 square feet of meeting space including one of the world's largest Marriott hotel ballrooms - an enormous Grand Ballroom totaling 40,500 square feet.
-- The 622-room Marriott Indianapolis Downtown, located adjacent to the new hotels.
-- All five Marriott hotels connected to the Indiana Convention Center.

"Marriott Place Indianapolis is truly a one-of-a-kind development. For those traveling to Indianapolis - this is the place to stay," said Cory Chambers, JW Marriott Indianapolis Director of Sales and Marketing. "With more than 100,000 room nights on the books, it is clear meeting and convention planners are responding very enthusiastically."

Chambers added an aggressive advertising and advance sales campaign is planned which will highlight the benefits of choosing Marriott Place Indianapolis and its five hotels with various price points.

Marriott Place Indianapolis will serve as an anchor for the Indianapolis convention and tourism industry which totals more than $3.25 billion a year. In addition, Marriott Place Indianapolis is critical to Indianapolis hosting the 2012 Super Bowl and future NCAA events, including the 2010 Final Four.

"In the next three years, the 13th largest city in the U.S. is strategically investing more than $3 billion in new tourism-related product. An integral component of Indianapolis' transformation into a true first-tier destination is the Marriott Place Indianapolis," said Don Welsh, president & CEO of the Indianapolis Convention & Visitors Association. "From meeting planners to leisure tourists, this unique hotel project is resonating and giving us the opportunity to go after larger convention groups and land major events like the Super Bowl."

Located on a picturesque seven acre site on the edge of White River State Park, guests at Marriott Place Indianapolis are steps away from world class shopping and dining, cultural attractions, and professional sports venues.

February 2011 marks the grand opening of The JW Marriott Indianapolis. March 2010 is the scheduled opening of The Indianapolis Courtyard by Marriott Downtown, Indianapolis Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Downtown, and Indianapolis SpringHill Suites by Marriott Downtown, in addition to, the grand re-opening of the popular T.G.I. Friday's restaurant.
