Champagne Mandois, Owner of vineyards since 1735, has just obtained the title of Best Chardonnay of the World 2009. Champagne Mandois Blanc de Blancs vintage 2004 received this prestigious award from a jury of 300 international experts, among a selection of more than 900 chardonnay wines from 37 countries.

“This vintage 2004 has always been exceptional at Mandois. Since the harvest, regular tastings and analyses always proved the unique character of this vintage for our best parcels planted with chardonnay grapes. In our estate vineyard, we work as closely as possible to Nature in order to obtain the best expression of the Chardonnay grapes. Becoming Best Chardonnay of the World 2009 is a great reward to the Nature which helps us every day” declared Claude Mandois and Eric Chameret, respectively managing director and manager of the environmental projects at Mandois.

Champagne Mandois “Blanc de Blancs 2004” is currently proposed in prestigious restaurants in most parts of the world. Official partner of the Bocuse d'Or prize winner’s academy, Mandois always supported the young talents who create a new gustatory and cultural world. Each year, Mandois gives the Extra Mandois Prize to a chef who works “even closer to great quality products”. Thierry Schwarz (“Le Bistro des Saveurs” in Alsace), 2009’ Extra Mandois Prize, proposed his creation “Like a ravioli, the egg in egg with fresh truffles” to pair with Champagne “Blanc de Blancs 2004”.

The 16th annual Chardonnay du Monde wine competition, which recognises the world’s best Chardonnay wines, was held between 11 and 14 of March 2009.
