Spanish travel agents consider the Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora, located in the south of Tenerife facing the island of La Gomera, to be the best resort hotel in Spain according to a survey of agency networks made by the media run by the Preferente Group.
A telephone survey amongst 400 travel agents carried out in November and December last year placed the Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora as leader of a group of five outstanding Spanish resort hotels, with a total of 248 votes compared to the 190 votes received by the second hotel.
Sol Meliá sees the results as a positive sign of the achievement of the objective defined at the opening of the Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora in July last year: to make the hotel a new point of reference for the Spanish hotel industry thanks to its sophistication, design and dining services, together with an extensive range of entertainment activities and facilities for relaxation.
The stunning hotel is located in the region of Guía de Isora, on the Costa Adeje in the south of Tenerife, on a hillside which links up Mount Teide and the ocean, providing the hotel with a record number of hours of sunshine and an average annual temperature of 22ºC.
The omnipresence of the natural world in the sea, land and air have been perfectly integrated in the imposing neo-classical design created by the architect Álvaro Sans, combining superior quality hotel facilities with maximum respect for the environment, in keeping with the commitment to sustainable tourism which is a key criteria of Sol Meliá business values.
The hotel also offers magnificent water features, with 7,500 m2 of swimming pools including the largest open-air private swimming pool in southern Europe –measuring 260 metres in length and holding 5,000 m3 of water--, as well as a fabulous Yhi Spa measuring 2,000 m2, with services and treatments for both the body and the mind in the most modern facilities.
There are also numerous dining experiences to be had in the five restaurants and six bars. From the intimate Asian restaurant ”Bana” or bright Mediterranean “Beach Club” to the world famous à la carte restaurant “Calima”, run by the prestigious chef Dani García. The Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora is rapidly becoming a mandatory port of call for lovers of fine food from all over the world.
Groups are also catered for at the Gran Meliá Palacio de Isora thanks to the 3,000 m2 of meeting and congress facilities, as too are families with children thanks to the 3,000 m2 of facilities for children including a play room and a private children’s swimming pool.
