Port Palace’s Mandarine restaurant, Monaco, has been awarded a Michelin star for 2009 and becomes the second Franklyn Restaurant to achieve this distinction after Chateau Eza’s restaurant obtained a star in 2007. With this star, chef Patrick Raingeard joins a very small, exclusive group of Michelin star chefs in Monaco which includes Alain Ducasse and Sylvain Etiévant.

Located on the top floor of the Port Palace, Mandarine Restaurant is the only boutique hotel in Monaco overlooking the legendary marina. Inaugurated in September 2003 by HSH Prince Albert of Monaco, it was designed by Leila Menchari of Hermes Paris and offers a clean, light-filled dining space with cuisine strongly influenced by Mediterranean gastronomy. Mandarine also houses a unique wine cellar built into the cliff.

Chef Patrick Raingeard joined Port Palace in September 2006 where he brought his philosophy of blending classic and modern cuisine from his formative years of cooking. He was trained in renowned French restaurants L’Elysée Le Nôtre, l’Arpège Ledoyen, La Mère Poulard and also Ladurée Champs Elysées.
