Maiden Calls to Croatia and Montenegro Enhance Mediterranean Itineraries

In 2009, Crystal Cruises is offering guests more time to discover one of Europe's most rapidly-growing hot destinations - the Dalmatian Coast. Emerging as the "new Riviera," the region offers luxury and adventure travelers a vacation playground featuring stunning 13th-century walled cities, medieval villages, outdoor cafes and sun-bleached beaches reminiscent of the Italian and French Rivera's. Eight of the luxury line's Mediterranean itineraries aboard Crystal Serenity boast visits to Dubrovnik, and maiden calls to Trogir, Croatia and Kotor, Montenegro from June through October.

Crystal Adventures include the rare opportunity to climb Malacka, one of Croatia's most challenging free-climb courses; raft down the Cetina River, weaving through tiny medieval villages; kayak along the Adriatic Coast, and explore the Island of Brac by speedboat.

"Crystal's savvy guests relish emerging destinations that, to a large degree, have yet to be discovered by the traveling public," says Bill Smith, senior vice president, sales and marketing. "The Dalmatian Coast has long been a somewhat hidden gem - rich in scenery, history and culture."

Crystal's Dalmatian Coast itineraries begin in Venice, Barcelona, Istanbul, Athens and Lisbon throughout summer and fall, 2009. Cruise fares start at $3,535 per person, double occupancy. Travelers can also save up to $1,500 per person on most Mediterranean voyages with the line's European Celebration Savings program. All 2009 Mediterranean cruises qualify for Crystal's Save Now, Save Later program, allowing guests who book their 2009 vacation by March 31 to save 20 percent on most 2010 cruises. Additionally, the line's All Inclusive - As You Wish program allows guests to customize their vacations with a $1,000 per person spending credit.
