With the launch of Alila Villas Uluwatu, Alila Hotels & Resorts renews its commitment to the beautiful and enchanting island of Bali. Perched upon an elevated plateau along the southern coastline of Bali, with breathtaking views of dramatic limestone cliffs sweeping down to the Indian Ocean, Alila Villas Uluwatu in Bali is the first all-villa property in a new generation of Alila Hotels & Resorts properties.

Slated for opening in April 2009, Alila Villas Uluwatu is conveniently located a short 30 minute drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport, and is 15 minutes away from Jimbaran Bay, a stretch of beach famously dotted with local seafood warungs. Unifying luxury living and innovative lifestyle, the property showcases a contemporary and seamless Balinese-inspired design aesthetic set in a dramatic natural landscape. Each individual villa is specifically designed to follow an environmentally sustainable framework. Alila Villas Uluwatu’s flawless
and spacious architecture not only blends in with the surrounding natural environment, but it also respects and harnesses it to showcase the fullness of Bali’s cultural richness. The individual private pools and pavilions that accompany each villa offer a beautiful ocean view backdrop that makes the Alila experience all the more serene, special and of course, surprisingly different.

Sean Brennan, general manager for Alila Villas Uluwatu, says “We are proud to launch this new concept of ultra luxurious all-villa hotel residences in Bali. Apart from offering the ultimate in luxury living, Alila Villas Uluwatu will surprise guests with its high-level of personalised service and luxury options.”

This prestigious development offers 56 one-bedroom villas in addition to 7 three-bedroom villas, each with its own pool and private pavilion with panoramic views over the vivid Indian Ocean. Designed by award-winning Singaporean
architectural firm, WOHA, all villas showcase contemporary interiors enhanced with touches of nature and traditional Balinese accents – reflected in planes of wood, water, stone and rattan. The resort is also designed and constructed according to an environmentally sustainable framework.

From arrival to departure, Alila Villas Uluwatu will indulge and pamper guests, catering to their every whim, need and fancy. Personalised services include three-levels of butler service options, ranging from private to extravagant, and a butler sleep menu, with six different types of pillows to select from. Whisked through immigration from the minute they exit the airplane, guests will find their favorite nibble freshly prepared and waiting for them in their villa when they arrive at the resort. A variety of Alila Journeys— a collection of special
bespoke activities and experiences—aims to bring the best that Bali has to offer to guests in the comfort of Alila Villas Uluwatu. Whether it’s a jewelry-making class with worldrenowned Balinese artisans or a stone sculpture session to create a unique masterpiece, these Alila Journeys will be special, customized experiences that will leave an indelible impression.

The Warung and The Restaurant, Alila Villas Uluwatu’s two restaurants, are helmed by executive chef Stefan Zijta, former executive chef of the Anouska Hempel-designed Shy in Jakarta, and prior to that, sous chef at Vermeer, a two Michelin starred restaurant in Amsterdam. The Warung offers traditional Balinese and Indonesian cuisine amidst a
sophisticated yet welcoming space, while The Restaurant is the property’s fine-dining option, a sleek contemporary setting with a bold design aesthetic, offering contemporary Western cuisine prepared with fresh regional produce.

Alila Villas Uluwatu aside, Alila Hotels & Resorts also manage the award-winning Alila Ubud, a resort set in the lush hills of culturally-rich Ubud, and Alila Manggis, a relaxing beachside retreat located in the eastern part of Bali. Also opening in the second-half of 2009 is Alila
Villas Soori, a beachside property set alongside verdant rice terraces at the southwest coast of the island. These upcoming openings cement Alila Hotels & Resort’s presence and cachet as the leading hotel management company in Bali.
