Asia’s leading luxury boutique hotel operator, Alila Hotels and Resorts, is set to expand its global footprint with its newly established representative office in Dubai. Headed by its Director of Development, Tim Hallet, the Dubai office will drive Alila’s developments in the Middle East, India and Africa.

Alila Hotels and Resorts’ foray into the Gulf region will start off with 4 exciting projects in Dubai and Oman in collaboration with key players in the industry. The 4 hotels and resorts are slated to open in the next two years.

Close to home, Alila has signed management agreements for its first 3 hotel projects in India—specifically in Bangalore, Goa and Kerala. Alila Goa is expected to open in mid 2009.

Alila, in operation since 2001, is widely reputed for its stylish and luxurious hotels and resorts that offer warm hospitality with genuine destination experiences and the finest in design, living, dining and wellness. The hotel management group is also well-known for its contributions to environmentally sustainable tourism, including local communities. Alila Villas Hadahaa for instance, Alila’s first resort in the Maldives slated to open in 2009, achieved the esteemed Green Globe ‘Building Planning and Design Standard’ Certified Status this August.

Alila Villas represents Alila’s next generation of exclusive luxury villa resorts that blend the ultimate in luxury with innovative lifestyle. Designed in harmony with its unique environment, each Alila Villa is selectively developed to grace some of the most spectacular destinations in the world. The first villa resort, Alila Villas Uluwatu, will open in April 2009 followed by Alila Villas Hadahaa in Maldives and Alila Villas Soori in Bali later in the year.

To support its rapid developments, Alila will invest significantly in resources at both its corporate office in Singapore and its representative office in Dubai, particularly in human resources.

Alila’s present portfolio of hotels and resorts are Alila Ubud and Alila Manggis in Bali, Alila Jakarta and Kemang Icon by Alila in Indonesia, Alila Cha-Am in Thailand and 3 Nagas by Alila in Laos.
