To help those recovering from whirlwind inauguralactivities or simply looking to escape the “inside the beltway” madness this January, The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach is pleased to announce its unique Inauguration Escape package.
“The Inauguration Escape offer is designed to celebrate this historic event in our nation’s history and offer people a chance to flee the northern cold and experience our newly redesigned resort,” said General Manager Brad Cance. “We’ve also arranged for a very special, one-of-a-kind keepsake that matches our Presidential Suite’s cheeky and fun character and showcases its award-winning design for elements such as the wall of shoe art.”
The Inauguration Escape offer includes accommodations in a stylish Ocean Front Room with access to the Club Level and Club Lounge, as well as:
* Invitation to the resort’s inauguration festivities, including a big screen showing of the ceremony accompanied by President-elect Barack Obama’s favorite Chicago-style fare
* Two specially crafted, red and blue “electinis” on Inauguration Day
* One half-hour spa massage
* A copy of President-elect Barack Obama’s book, The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream
Guests booking the Inauguration Escape and staying in the hotel’s extravagant Presidential Suite will receive a custom-designed shoe created exclusively by Miami-based artist Robert Tabor. The unique souvenir or gift is in line with the suite’s wall of shoe art, which serves as the focal point for its whimsical spirit, featuring heels and pumps that pay tribute to past First Ladies and other historical figures. The striking Presidential Suite also offers two adjoined, boldly independent executive suites (aptly named the Commander and Chief); a wellness room for private spa treatments, yoga and more; a billiards room; three-and-a-half-baths, complete with a personal bath butler; complimentary beach cabana reservations; monogrammed Ritz-Carlton robes and much more.
Examples of shoe art from the wall include the Barbara Bush shoe, which is a classic orthopedic wing tip in signature blue fashion with a red ribbon tie, topped by her famous three-strand pearls. The Jackie Kennedy shoe is a ‘60’s style square toe, covered in a pink wool suit and a jeweled-trimmed JFK political button on the lapel, and the heel reflects her signature hair style and pill box hat. Other dignitaries honored include, Hillary Clinton, Betty Ford, Eve (as in Adam & Eve), Evita Perón, Imelda Marcos, Margaret Thatcher, Marie Antoinette, Princess Diana and Queen Elizabeth.
Inauguration Escape starts at $569 per night for Ocean Front Rooms and $6,000 per night for the Presidential Suite (exclusive of tax and gratuity). Guests staying five nights will receive a $200 resort credit per stay, and those staying for seven nights will receive a $400 resort credit per stay. Offer valid at time of booking only for guests checking in Thursday, January 15 thru Sunday, January 24, 2009. Maximum guest capacity is two adults and two children per room. This package cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts.
