Recently, Swiss-Belhotel International signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the leaders of the Travel Industry in Yemen, Universal Group of Companies. Both companies have joined hands to create a unique 5 star experience with a lifestyle Hotel that exudes the culture and heritage of Yemen.

Just 14 – 18 months away from completion, the hotel is fully hand crafted and built by specialists from the region who have mastered the art from past generations. The property consists of 92 rooms spread across 5 towers and each room boasts of being different in design to give a different experience on every stay of the frequenting guests.

Mr. Edgar Solenthaler, Vice President of the Swiss-Belhotel International Regional Office in the Middle East said, “We are delighted to be partnered with Universal Group of Companies where the experience speaks for itself .” Universal Group of Companies is the largest in-bound and out-bound tour operator in Yemen as well the agents of Yemenia Airlines, Emirates, DHL, Hertz Rent-A-Car and many other entities. They have recently signed an agreement with Travelport GDS, one of the world’s leading global providers of both Galileo and Worldspan brands.

Mr. Alwan S. Al Shaibani, Chairman, Universal Group of Companies, said, “While we are all justifiably proud of past achievements, it is my vision that Universal will continue to grow, forging new alliances and agreements contributing to the economic growth of Yemen and also making our presence felt beyond our borders.”

Speaking further about the property, Mr. Solenthaler compared the building process to “carving a stone to perfection” and he feels that “Swiss-Belhotel International’s experience, since 1986, will add to its quality and management keeping in mind the standards expected from it.” Swiss-Belhotel Sana’a will have an All-Day-Dining restaurant; fine dining, banquet, Arabic Indoor and Outdoor night club & bars with one on the roof top. A Middle East Spa operation and a Business Centre are some of the other facilities that will become a part of the Hotel operation.
