World’s Largest and Most Important International Awards In The Travel Industry Recognizes New Hilton In Beijing
Hot on the heels since its opening in time for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics, Hilton Beijing Wangfujing has been named “2008 World’s Leading Lifestyle Hotel“, at the 2008 World Travel Awards by the World Travel Award Organization.
The award “World’s Leading Lifestyle Hotel” represents a remarkable accolade for Hilton Beijing Wangfujing, the second Hilton hotel in China’s capital, given that it has just opened its doors a few months ago.
Nils-Arne Schroeder, General Manager of Hilton Beijing Wangfujing commented, “We are greatly honored and encouraged by this acknowledgement by the renowned World Travel Award Organization of chic & intimately-style hotel. Our innovative food and beverage concepts, chic interiors inspired by the classical Rococo-style era and the traditional architecture of the nearby Forbidden City, and spacious, deluxe guest rooms with highly-sophisticated in-room entertainment makes the hotel a key social gathering spot for the local community as well as the international travelers.
"With more and more exceptional properties being built around the world "Lifestyle" has become a key factor in travel. To be a leader in the lifestyle travel segment in today’s world is not only, a great achievement it is also an ever increasing necessity." commented Graham Cooke, President of World Travel Awards.
Hilton Beijing Wangfujing was presented the award at the 15th Annual World Gala Ceremony held in Turks & Caicos, the culmination of the 2008 World Travel Awards Grand Tour of regional ceremonies in United States, South America, Asia, Africa, Australia and Europe.
Hailed by the Wall Street Journal as the “Travel Industry’s equivalent to the Oscars”, the World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate the enormous achievements in all sectors of the global travel industry. It is recognized as the world's most comprehensive and most prestigious awards program in global travel industry today.
After a successful opening, Hilton Beijing Wangfujing plans to raise the service bar even higher in the coming 12 months. Nils-Arne Schroeder brings with him a wealth of experience to Hilton Beijing Wangfujing, including 9 years with Hilton Hotels.
“Recognition by industry experts inspires us to strive even further to tailor our services to meet the leisure and business needs of increasingly sophisticated travelers. We have had exciting months since we opened and we look forward to welcoming more guests to the hotel in the months and years ahead.” he noted.
The hotel opened in August 2008, and sets the standard for modern comfort.
