Deluxe beachfront hotel completes construction activities in January 2009

As it wraps up its final construction activities, the Outrigger Reef on the Beach will ring in the New Year with a stunning new property, thanks to $110 million in enhancements that have transformed this beachfront hotel into one of Waikiki’s newest upscale accommodations.

Ideally located on Waikiki Beach and adjacent to the exciting Waikiki Beach Walk® entertainment and dining district, the Outrigger Reef will complete construction activities in January 2009, and is inviting travelers to celebrate with two packages ideal for Hawaii-bound vacationers this winter or spring.

The hotel’s multi-year improvement project encompassed virtually every aspect of the property, from city-side to seaside, rooftop to sand. During its transformation, rooms were gutted, walls torn down and bathrooms overhauled to make way for spacious guestrooms and suites characterized by elegant interiors, modern amenities and inspirational views. The pool was stripped and re-tiled with an entirely new look. The new porte cochere and entryway make a striking first impression with its distinctive Polynesian longhouse design and century-old canoe display. An upgraded fitness center, curated artifact display, exquisite island artworks, new shops and a host of enhanced guest services are among the hotel’s numerous enhancements.

“It’s been a long haul living with an ever-changing property, and I give our employees tremendous credit for providing exceptional service to our guests throughout the process,” said Bill Comstock, general manager. “We were thrilled to see each new section of the hotel as it was completed, and can hardly wait to see the entire property reach full fruition.”

All new guest rooms come with 32” flat-panel LCD televisions, stunning undersea photography, full-sized tubs, spacious new vanity with lighted cosmetic mirror and made-in-Hawaii bath amenities. Every guest also gets the hotel’s Fee Free Escape: free direct-dial calls to the U.S. Mainland and Canada; free high speed web access in all guest rooms, meeting rooms and lobby areas; free local phone calls; free inter-island telephone calls; free “1-800” access calls; free use of the fitness center and in-room safe; free daily newspaper; free cultural activities; free Hawaiian Vow Renewal Ceremony (twice weekly); free in-room coffee and tea; and free bottled water and cool towel upon arrival.

The Outrigger Reef Third Night Free & Breakfast Special includes daily breakfast for two and accommodations in an oceanfront guestroom or a one-bedroom suite. Guests must book a minimum of three nights to receive a third night free. Valid from 1/5/09 to 6/30/09, rates begin at $385 per night, depending upon room category and dates of stay.

The Outrigger Reef $25 Shopping & Dining Grand Re-Opening Offer includes nightly accommodations plus a $25 dining or shopping voucher per night. The voucher can be redeemed at more than 15 restaurants and merchants, all located in or near the hotel. (Please inquire with the hotel for a complete list or participating restaurants, stores and services.) Valid from 12/22/08 to 6/7/09, the package begins at $209 per night for a city view room.

Both Grand Re-Opening promotions are based on single or double occupancy, and subject to availability, applicable taxes and change without notice. Some restrictions may apply.
