We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jean-Pierre Challeau as general manager of Manava Suite Resort Tahiti, the newest edition to the group’s portfolio set to open March 01st, 2009. Mr. Alain Druet will undertake the position of general manager at Moorea Pearl Resort & Spa following Mr. Challeau’s departure.
Mr. Jean-Pierre Challeau’s storied success with South Pacific Management began in 1998 with the debut of the Bora Bora Pearl Beach Resort & Spa. Following his tenure in Bora Bora, Challeau assisted in launching the Te Tiare Beach Resort in Huahine, the Tikehau Pearl Beach Resort, and the Moorea Pearl Resort & Spa. Mr. Challeau’s stellar reputation with successful openings will be a welcomed addition to the highly-anticipated debut of Manava Suite Resort Tahiti. Marking the first South Pacific Management hotel on the main island of Tahiti, Manava Suite Resort Tahiti promises to be the premier Papeete resort with 121 guest rooms, multi-bedroom duplex suites and apartments. Offering state-of-the-art technology and in-suite kitchen quarters, each room will offer a luxurious, well-appointed home base for all types of travelers. For up-to-date information, please visit

“The opening of a new hotel allows me to participate in the creation of something special that travelers will enjoy for decades,” says Mr. Challeau. “It is a passion of mine to help craft lasting memories for each and every guest.”
With Mr. Challeau’s departure from Moorea Pearl Resort & Spa, future guests need not to worry, as the appointment of Mr. Alain Druet to general manager brings over 20 years of hospitality experience to the established property. Mr. Druet was recently the Executive Operation Director for the South Pacific Management portfolio, and has also managed many of the group’s properties in Huahine, Le Taha’a, Tikehau and the Marquesas.
“My arrival to Moorea Island marks a homecoming for me and my family” says Druet, “and I welcome the opportunity to raise the high quality standards set by my predecessors to continue to establish Moorea Pearl Resort & Spa as a premier resort in the South Pacific.”
