Luxury Riviera Maya Resort Recognized as One of Mexico’s Top 25 by Readers of Prestigious Travel Publication

Ceiba del Mar Beach & Spa Resort has been recognized as one of the world’s top resorts in the 2008 Conde Nast Reader’s Choice Awards. The luxury Riviera Maya property was named one of Mexico’s top 25 resorts by readers of the prestigious travel publication. The awards appear in the November issue of the magazine and are derived from the Conde Nast Traveler Readers Choice Survey, the largest independent poll of consumers' preferences in the U.S. This year, 32,633 readers voted.

Ideally situated on a stretch of secluded powder-sand beach at the edge of a picturesque fishing village, Ceiba del Mar features an ambiance of luxury and comfort, beautiful Mexican and Mayan architecture and warm hospitality. The resort combines unspoiled white beaches, relaxing Caribbean waters, and a stunning natural landscape with suites offering ocean views, a unique holistic spa and unparalleled amenities and service just 20 minutes away from Cancun Airport.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized as one of the top resorts in Mexico, and the world, by Conde Nast Traveler,” said Eduardo Herrera, Director of Operations for Ceiba Del Mar. “It means so much to see that we have made such an overwhelmingly positive impression on our guests. We strive for excellence in every aspect of their experience here, and it is wonderful to see that they recognize our efforts and appreciate them.”

"These awards celebrate the destinations, lodgings, and modes of transportation that manage to exceed our expectations," said Conde Nast Traveler Editor in Chief Klara Glowczewska. "The Readers' Choice Awards, with over 32,000 readers voting, are a credit to the worldly expertise of our readers -- passionate travelers for whom no island is too remote, no city too challenging, and no hotel too untested."

Ceiba del Mar features 88 luxury rooms, including 37 suites and 7 penthouses, all with breathtaking ocean views. All of the rooms feature fabulous amenities including private balcony or terrace, international cable TV and DVD/CD player, enhanced turn-down service, cotton robes and slippers, twice-daily maid service, mini-bar, ceiling fans, and exclusive bath amenities.

For additional pampering and relaxation, Ceiba del Mar offers a full-service aromatherapy spa with a full range of treatments. The resort’s unique Temazcal Ceremony, an ancestral indigenous ritual performed in a terracotta hut at sunset on the beach, uses volcanic stones and aromatic herbs to create a naturally rejuvenating steam bath perfect for purifying your mind, body, and spirit. Ceiba Del Mar also offers a high-platform meditation palapa, the perfect place to relax and reflect on the paradise surrounding you.

Two fabulous restaurants, exclusively for Ceiba Del Mar guests, are on-site: Xtabay, offering an expansive breakfast buffet and creative Mexican-inspired cuisine for dinner; and Arrecife Grill & Lounge, featuring grilled and wood-fired oven specialties for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The resort’s Terrace Lounge offers a selection of sushi, carpaccio and tartars as well as a fully stocked bar and music for after hours entertainment.
