The Renaissance Oklahoma City Convention Center Hotel and Spa is pleased to announce the addition of new Executive Chef, Collins Idehen. Born and raised in England and seasoned as a Chef in restaurants throughout Europe and the United States, Idehen brings to the Renaissance a unique blend of classic elegance, bold flavors and a genuine joy of his art.
"We're very excited to welcome Chef Collins to the Renaissance," said General Manager Jeffrey Oliasami, "His experience and professionalism are outstanding, and the meals he creates are the talk of the town."
Idehen's passion for cooking began at age 16 while working at a small eatery in East London. He attended the Rotary International Catering School in England and while working in Europe, studied with numerous world-known Master Chefs including Georges Guerand and Victor Blanc. He later went on to receive a Business Administration degree from Texas Southern University and honed his culinary skills in the kitchens of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and the five-star, five-diamond Four Seasons Hotel in Atlanta.
Idehen was part of the management team that opened the prestigious thousand-room Renaissance Grand Hotel in St. Louis and was recently nominated for Chef of the Year as the Executive Chef at the historic Renaissance Cleveland Hotel.
"Idehen has cooked for three Presidents and numerous celebrities including Will Smith, Bill Gates and Oprah," said Oliasami. "He's always striving to stay at the top of his game, wowing guests with a flavor that speaks for itself."
