The stylish new Hotel Indigo(R) in the Chicago suburb of Vernon Hills has emerged with a fresh, innovative and extensive redesign that reflects the hotel's adherence to tranquility, renewal and the elements of nature, and an altogether contemporary and comforting environment where guests can rest and recharge in luxury. With easy access to downtown Chicago and O'Hare International Airport, the 100% non-smoking boutique hotel offers an upscale, trendy and relaxed atmosphere, top-notch guest rooms and public areas, full service amenities and cutting edge cuisine.
Seasonal martinis, "PHI" appetizers and sushi, live music featuring guitar, tongas, rain sticks and maracas set the scene as the property officially cuts its grand opening ribbon today, September 18, at 5:00 p.m. The event showcases the hotel's high style, affordable luxury, and theme of seasonal renewal by providing guests with a sense of "peace, reliability and comfort." Guests will take a seasonal property tour, "build" a Haiku and participate in a raffle for Project Earth Share, with proceeds matched by the hotel.
The property is owned by Florida Capital Real Estate Group of Heathrow, FL and managed by Lane Hospitality of Northbrook, IL (http://www.lanehospitality.com/), under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group (http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/). The property was transformed from an AmeriSuites hotel by Glenview Construction of Glenview, IL. TWP Architecture (http://www.twparchitecture.com/) of Elm Grove, WI headed up the redesign.
Participating in the ribbon-cutting are Mayor Roger Byrne, City of Vernon Hills; Mark Foley, President, Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein & Vernon Hills (GLMV) Chamber of Commerce; Maureen Riedy, President of Lake County, Illinois Convention & Visitors Bureau; Katherine Christy, COO and Corporate Counsel, Florida Capital Real Estate Group; Bill DeForrest, President & CEO, Lane Hospitality, and Michaelene Guerrieri-Turner, In.keeper (General Manager), Hotel Indigo Chicago-Vernon Hills.
"We enthusiastically look forward to providing an outstanding guest experience, and to the many new business opportunities that this fresh and innovative world-class hotel brand brings to Vernon Hills," said John Rodgers, Vice President of Florida Capital Real Estate Group. "Hotel Indigo is an important addition to the northern suburbs and will provide both business and leisure guests with an upscale boutique experience unmatched by any other hotel in the area."
This is the first all-suites hotel of the InterContinental Hotels Group Indigo-branded boutique concept. The "soul" of the concept is renewal: thoughtful changes that are made throughout the year to keep the hotel fresh and provide even the most frequent guest a unique experience with every stay. The hotel features renewable elements such as vivid nature-inspired murals, area rugs, plush duvets and slip covers that change periodically. Public spaces are transformed seasonally through changing artwork, music and flora.
All 127 studio suite accommodations -- with separate sitting and sleeping areas -- boast hardwood floors and spa-inspired baths with Aveda bath amenities, plush bedding, and natural color palettes with soft fabrics. Each room contains multiple phone lines with data ports, complimentary WiFi, 32-inch flat panel TV, MP3-player compatible alarm clock and mini-refrigerator.
The hotel features a 24-hour "Phitness" studio with cardio equipment and free weights, 24-hour business center, and indoor heated pool. Flexible meeting and event space for business or social occasions includes two In.spiration meeting rooms to accommodate up to 80 people theater-style, myriad catering options, new audiovisual equipment, and 24-hour business center kiosk.
Casual gourmet cuisine is featured in the PHI Restaurant and Bar, with healthy breakfast and dinner selections that change every three months with seasonal inspirations. There is Grab-and-Go service with healthy and traditional snack items, and full service Starbucks coffee bar through the "We Proudly Brew" program. Full evening beverage service features a martini menu and 24-hour bottled beverages.
The hotel is located at 450 North Milwaukee Ave., within walking distance to shopping and entertainment, and within one mile of 30 casual and fine-dining restaurants.
