Ultra-luxury Silversea Cruises today announced the appointment of Linda Schultes to the newly created position of associate vice president of marketing, reporting to Marilyn Conroy, senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Americas. She will be based in the company's Fort Lauderdale office.
With more than a decade of experience in marketing in increasingly senior managerial roles, Schultes will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day marketing activities, including the development, implementation and management of advertising, collateral, direct marketing and e-marketing programs.
David Morris, Silversea's executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing, said, "I'm delighted that Linda is joining us at such an important time when our fleet is growing and our company is expanding its drive into new luxury markets around the globe. Her extensive marketing experience and proven track record will help accelerate our growth and success."
"We're pleased to be able to attract such talented professionals as Linda," added Marilyn Conroy. "Her impressive marketing and management background in the industry will be a tremendous asset to our marketing team."
Schultes joins Silversea from Seabourn Cruise Line, where she started as director of marketing and was later promoted to assistant vice president of marketing. Prior to Seabourn, she was manager of marketing services for Cunard and Orient Lines. Her background also includes advertising agency experience at Mason Selkowitz Marketing and Hutchins/Young & Rubicam in Rochester, NY. Schultes holds a bachelor of arts degree in English literature from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
Silversea Cruises is recognized as an innovator in the luxury segment, offering guests large-ship amenities aboard four intimate vessels, Silver Cloud, Silver Wind, Silver Shadow, and Silver Whisper, all designed to offer an atmosphere of conviviality and casual elegance. With the addition of the regal expedition ship Prince Albert II, the company's itineraries encompass all seven continents.
In the U.S., Silversea has been voted "World's Best" by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler (nine times) and Travel + Leisure (seven times), and rated Number-One luxury cruise line by high-net-worth consumers in the 2008 Luxury Brand Status Index (LBSI).
