Be greeted by snow-capped mountains and the wintry glow of the sun this winter at Banyan Tree Lijiang and Banyan Tree Ringha. Heralded as the next exhilarating travel destination, Yunnan’s snowscape is an invitation to experience a poetic winter unlike any in the highlands of China.

Priced at RMB 16,950++ per couple and valid from 1 November 2008 to 31 March 2009, the Winter Sonata package is inclusive of accommodation in a beautiful Banyan Tree Lijiang Garden Villa for two nights and a rustic Banyan Tree Ringha Tibetan Suite for the remaining two nights. Guests are greeted and transferred in style upon arrival at Lijiang Airport to Banyan Tree Lijiang, where they embark on a tour of the Tiger Leaping Gorge. The package also includes a romantic bath set up, complete with champagne, rose petals, scented bath and candlelight, at Banyan Tree Lijiang and a pampering Gui Shi Hot Stones massage session for two at the award-winning Banyan Tree Spa Ringha.

Discover this secluded hideaway of fabled beauty and serenity with the Shangri-la Cultural Tour. Enjoy a home-cooked lunch at a villager’s homestead and warm up with a mug of fortifying yak butter tea – an effective local way of combating altitude sickness and cold weather. At the end of the day, return to the comforts of a traditional Tibetan hot pot, served at Chang Sa restaurant in Banyan Tree Ringha; the hearty soup base is made using local mountain mushrooms and herbs, slow cooked with pork bones for hours on end, suffusing the broth with a hearty flavor and rich consistency.

Suite Dreams
Banyan Tree Ringha comprises authentic two-storey Tibetan farmhouses that were personally handpicked and purchased from the local villagers. With room sizes starting from a spacious 175 square metres, each of the 32 stunning Tibetan suites and lodges is warmed by a blazing fireplace and comes with a luxuriously designed bathroom fitted with a handcrafted wooden bathtub.

Overlooking the magnificent Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, Banyan Tree Lijiang’s spacious villas feature private, heated outdoor jet-pools or plunge pools. A total of 88 stunning rooms, ranging from single-storey villas to double-storey townhouses, have been constructed with local materials, including pink stone and grey Naxi bricks.
