The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest growing hotel companies in the world, takes over the Park Hotel Dresden Radebeul in Germany and operates the property as Radisson Hotel Dresden Radebeul as from January 1, 2009. The hotel comprises 574 rooms – and brings Rezidor’s pipeline in Germany to more than 10,000 rooms in 47 hotels in operation and under development. “This signing is in line with our strategy to grow into the depth of our home markets”, comments Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor. “In Dresden, we are already managing the Radisson SAS Gewandhaus Hotel in the historic heart of town – and are now able to add a property dedicated to group and MICE markets.”
The new hotel is a common project of Rezidor and its franchise partner Grand City Hotels & Resorts. “The co-operation with Rezidor will give this hotel and, indeed the destination, a fresh impetus and we look forward to Rezidor’s support in marketing the hotel and the destination worldwide as part of their network of outstanding conference hotels”, says Christian Windfuhr, CEO of Grand City.
The Radisson Hotel Dresden Radebeul is located in a suburb of Dresden – well-known for its vineyard and the Karl May museum – approximately 7 kilometers away from the city center and 9 kilometers from the airport Dresden-Halle. Besides 437 rooms & suites and 137 studios the hotel offers extensive F&B facilities: 2 restaurants, 2 bars and 1 snack-bar. Business travelers benefit from 14 conference and meeting rooms, and for leisure guests the hotel features a 1,000 sqm wellness center with pool, Jacuzzi, spa, Hammam and Ayurveda treatments.
